I reckon Sunderland are doomed.

To show there’s no hard feelings, here’s a genuine, warm-hearted Sotonians “Good Luck” to Liverpool’s Sadio Mané!

Hope Senegal makes it all the way to the final on February 5th - or at least to the quarter-finals on January 28th.

It’d be terrible if he came back injured :lou_lol:

Teams that do not have players going should have one or two players nominated that aren’t allowed to play during the alloted time period and no injured players to be used.

Chelsea could lose Costa

Man City any body from the top half of the pitch.

Why is this tournament played every two years instead of four and not synchronized with the Euro’s and Concaf cups? So that all players are missing at the same time?

Something to do with it being a bit warm in Africa in the summer?

Well warmer than the UK but every two years what is that about?

Wasn’t there a World Cup played in South Africa a couple of years back or am I mis-remembering?

Yes, England players dressed up as footballers and went there to watch for a week or two.

Can’t resist.

You guys need to look up Geography 1 and a picture of the Globe.

It shows that South Africa is in the Southern Hemisphere & strangely they had their winter during the World Cup. It’s also their summer now

Hey, he just said Africa, he didn’t specifically mention those parts of Africa between the tropics!!

Don’t know who that guy is but we’re not allowed to play our (debateably) best player in a game, despite the fact that his first game in the AFCON was supposed to be 2 weeks after his last game for us!!

I’m sure we followed all international rules so he can go fuck himself, Hazarddribble that is, not Puel…

Afcon 2017: Sofiane Boufal of Southampton misses out for Morocco

Show/hide article…

Southampton midfielder Sofiane Boufal has withdrawn from Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations squad with an injury.

The 23-year-old was sent home on Sunday from a training camp, although details of the injury have not been released.

“Boufal has left after examination of his injury showed he would not be capable of playing,” the national team said in a statement.

Morocco have already lost midfielders Younes Belhanda, Oussame Tannane and Watford’s Nordin Amrabat to injuries.

They play Finland in a friendly on Tuesday before heading to the tournament in Gabon where their first match is against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Oyem on 16 January.

A replacement for Boufal has not yet been named.
