Apologies - gooduns and baduns

Apologies are coming in thick and fast today!

The Sean Spicer one is a bit cringeworthy. For a guy in charge of PR, he’s not very good at PR.

“I hope I showed I understand that I did that, and I saw people’s forgiveness because I screwed up, and I hope each person can understand that part of existing is understanding when you do something wrong, if you own up to it, you do it, you let people know, and I did.”

The Daily Mail has also apologised to Melania Trump! It’s very sincere.

The Mail Online website and the Daily Mail newspaper published an article on 20th August 2016 about Melania Trump which questioned the nature of her work as a professional model, and republished allegations that she provided services beyond simply modelling. The article included statements that Mrs. Trump denied the allegations and Paulo Zampolli, who ran the modelling agency, also denied the allegations, and the article also stated that there was no evidence to support the allegations. The article also claimed that Mr and Mrs Trump may have met three years before they actually met, and “staged” their actual meeting as a “ruse.”

We accept that these allegations about Mrs Trump are not true and we retract and withdraw them. We apologise to Mrs Trump for any distress that our publication caused her. To settle Mrs Trump’s two lawsuits against us, we have agreed to pay her damages and costs.

United Airlines’ apology is all over the shop - I can’t keep track! First there was the non apology. Since that got called out, there are more and more apologies coming in by the dozen.

“That is not who our family at United is. This will never happen again on a United flight. That’s my promise. No one should ever be mistreated this way.”

There must be something in the air!

Fake news / apologies - what has the media come to?

:lou_facepalm_2:

Well, a crock of shit…

Think it was Pap who said we actually do news better here.

But not apologies…

keep up @areloa-grandee

I will apologise for saying that @TheCholulaKid no longer gives a shit about teaching poor kids. That was out of order.

Sorry?

Watch some early Spicer. It really is a case of, who’s the worst person for job? OK, let’s have a laugh.

A bit like our own foreign minister.

David Cameron’s apology to the people of Liverpool for Hillsborough was very inspiring and calculatedly simple.

No room for ambiguity.

The fam here all agreed that it was excellent, brought closure, and probably meant even more because it came from a Conservative Prime Minister.
