Bit too soon for me mate, I’m still gutted, absolutely gutted. I used to look up to Barry, I really did. When he used to talk about things, I used to think to myself, wow, this bro really knows what he’s talking about! Maybe I was just under his glamour, you know, cos of how definite he was in his proclaimations, and how little room he left for any doubt. He sounded so plausible. Like an expert, like someone who had studied the game all his life, and thought deeply on the subject. I must admit, couple of times I’d repeated his opinions to other people, and pretended they were my own, hoping I suppose that people would look up to me, like they do Barry. I was so confident. I put £2k on Puel in the next sacked manager market only two weeks ago, all on his say-so.
Then it turned out, of course, that he was just blowing out his arse, and didn’t know fuck all about football. A bitter pill srs. Who’s gonna pay for my kids Christmas now ffs?
