So, I outlined my feelings about Woody Allen a while ago. But, I find it hard to not love Annie Hall. This opening monologue is so on the money, and 40 years later still as true as it was then

Actually, so many to choose from

The cinema scene is amazing

You know nothing of my work. You mean my whole fallacy is wrong. How you ever got to teach a course in anything is totally amazing.

On successful relationships

WA:Here, you look like a very happy couple, um, are you?

Womean: Yeah.

WA: Yeah? So, so, how do you account for it?

Woman: Uh, I’m very shallow and empty and I have no ideas and nothing interesting to say.

Man: And I’m exactly the same way.

WA: I see. Wow. That’s very interesting. So you’ve managed to work out something?

Best chat up line, ever:

WA_: Hey listen, gimme a kiss._

DK_: Really?_

WA: Yeah, why not, because we’re just gonna go home later, right, and then there’s gonna be all that tension, we’ve never kissed before and I’ll never know when to make the right move or anything. So we’ll kiss now and get it over with, and then we’ll go eat. We’ll digest our food better.

You go a long way to beat the Clint Eastwood ones - the scripts were just made for him.

Still one of my favourites

And who could forget

“Come back I’ll bite your legs off” or the whole “what is the approximate airspeed of a Swallow?”…
