I've only seen the MotD highlights, but I thought that the ref made the right decision on their penalty-that-wasn't. If Smith had actually tried to get to the ball, rather than diving (which is exactly what he did), then it would have been a foul, and a penalty. But he didn't. He dived, and fully deserved the booking that came his way.
The brilliant MotD pundits (Phil Neville and Matt Upson ) were adamant that it was a penalty, as according to them his momentum meant that he couldn't have done anything else. Utter bollocks - he could easily have tried to jump over Boufal's clumsy attempt to tackle him, and get to the ball that he'd just poked past Boufal. If his momentum had been so overwhelming he'd have gone flying, not fallen straight-legged as he did.
