Brexit / Exchange Rates to hit Transfers to English Clubs?

Buying players from Europe and negotiating Salaries will be hit hard as the Pound in your pocket takes a big hit.

Saw earlier Quid/Euro rates had dropped overnight from 1.30 to 1.22. I wonder if deals between clubs in UK and Europe are negotiated in Sterling or Euros? An offer of 10 million quid is now only worth 12.2mill euros instead of 13 million etc.

Also salaries are also going to get hiked even higher! 50 grand a week is now worth 6% less euros. Maybe an exodus of players out of EPL on the cards?

** I could have got all this arse about tit … as I was the one who bought Beta Max instead of VHS back in the day!!

On the other hand, it will be easier to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Leaving Europe is good for our game - too many players have been coming over here taking the jobs of good honest talentless homegrown players and showing us how it should be done.

There’s nothing wrong with hoofing the ball in to the mixer for a big centre forward and hoping we get the rub of the green.

That policy has served us well since 1973.

If rules about free movement are gone and foreigners need work permits then Scottish football is going to struggle to have any teams with 11 players - they fill their squads with cheap rubbish from Europe. Might mean more grassroots and youth development.
