Brussels Terror Attacks

It is all kicking off in Brussels this morning. Here we go again :lou_sad:

No way of preventing attacks in public places. The determined terrorist will always get through. :lou_sad:

As I understand the situation, two bomb blasts occurred by the Check In area of American Airlines, so before security and the mechanisms which may have picked them up.

Could have been a blast in the metro system as well.

I’m past caring about these wankers human or civils rights - I don’t care if giving them a fair trial etc makes us more civilised or “better” than them - we should just shoot every single last one of them (preferably in the knee caps first).

Sadly predictable but too late to halt people who are that determined.

Let’s get back to basics and try to engage with the next generation.

You’re not suggesting anything that hasn’t already happened. That has pretty much been the policy since 2001, except conducted in the Middle East. We’ve seen the results.

Quite apart from anything else, it’s likely that the people committing these acts have exactly the same kind of reasoning as you are outlining here. What else compels (or indeed enables) someone to wilfully and indiscriminately kill people in a public place?

Not condoning anything, but we already know where your road leads. It leads to more of this.

The only solution.

We need to engage them and radicalise them to British culture (whatever the fuck that is).

That’s not the work of a moment, and when this white, anglo-saxon either can’t identify what it means to be British, or does not like what he thinks it is to be British, then we’d better get used to this sort of thing over here.

Yeah, wouldn’t want to Radicalise them to Belgian Culture. They’d all want to go out with a big bang before that could happen. Hell think all of us would as well.

It is FAR too late to do anything about it. Political Correctness still means you would get into trouble if you called things as they really are and you would never be able to get traction to make Europe European for immigrants in the way Putin made that “offensive to many” come here and you are Russian and live our way" statement.

Too many people benefit from having a population who are scared. And too many make a living out of keeping the status quo on integration and relations.

40 years ago someone breaks the law they should have been deported. They should have been given permanent residencestatus but never passoprt status.

Depressingly. The world is screwed until the Industrial Military Political Classes are wiped out and people do their thing for the benefit of society not ideology.

So yes, Outrage. Why Brussels FFS? (They clearly did something wrong in the past in not enforcing something) but it will never go away. Cure Religious Extremism, you’ll still get your nutters.

Get on with life and tell your family you love them every day. If our numebr is up then that’s it. et’s face it, you still have a better chance of winning the lottery than of being blown up. Getting on with life & ignoring them is what always hurts Nutters, Bullies or even Trolls

I genuinely think Corbyn has the right idea when he says he’ll apologise for Iraq. Bletch talks about British values, and not necessarily knowing what they are. I can’t say that I am too up on the concept either, because even though I would say I think a liberal tradition is part and parcel of that, a far greater number are calling for more blood.

In a sense, it doesn’t really matter what we think British values are, because I don’t think we’ll ever end up on the same page. From the perspective of Islamic extremists, there isn’t going to be a great deal of dispute over what British values are. We’re warmongers that invade countries that haven’t invaded us, or set up coups to oust democratically elected governments, with a long history of exploiting the developing world. Whether you agree with that assessment or not is largely irrelevant. It’s what they think; we’re providing ongoing justification for many of those thoughts.

This won’t end unless a lot of attitudes change. We need to remember that we’ve been engaged in military action for a decade and a half, and have destroyed a large part of that region and/or its governments. Any attack on innocents needs to be roundly condemned, but none of this is happening in a vacuum. While we all feel sympathy for those affected in Brussels, we’ll never solve shit unless we acknowledge the problems we’ve created in the Middle East.

And one way we need to engage is by improving our PR.

The image of the west in some circles is bloody horrific - Britain could be sold to potential extremists as a country with no morals, all about paedo rings, godless, appalling drunken behaviour, attacks on Islamic countries, corruption, war-mongering leaders - that’s what we look like to some people in the cold light of day and that makes recruitment much easier.

Do we get our act together or shall we start executing prisoners every time there is an attack?

What’s it gonna be, are we going to try and minimise the problem or escalate it to a full out war that nobody can win?

I’m not going to politcally score points for a tragedy but you can not appeal to a culture that does not want to integrate, their religion is above a nation state and the people in it, how many people will have to die for us to realise this. To us our Country, family and freedoms are of the most importance, to many of the Islamic faith that is secondary to their religion.

No we dont, only an ignorant person would believe that, we value this life hence we what to see justice in it, in this one we live in, to others they believe the next life promises more hence they carry out suicide bombings, why did the IRA never carry out a suicide bombing? Religion.

tks for not trying to score points b.

Although not the same as suicide bombers, Bobby Sands starved himself to death as a member of the IRA in the 80s leaving behind a wife and child. I think 9 others starved themself to death too. Catholicism isnt hot on suicide.

No its not and the church tried to turn them away from that. suicide is a sin in the eyes of the catholic church.

Amazing how you can accurately describe 1bn+ people with such a simple statement, you’re like the Einstein of Sociology.
