Burnley Return

great to see Burnley back, hopefully Boro will join them. Oh and Hull in the playoffs.

The best thing about today was in the dressing room live on Sky Sports the Burnley players singing ‘let’s go fucking mental’ for a good 30/45 seconds without them cutting away. Nice 18:45 viewing on a bank holiday Monday!

So congratulations Burnley!

Nice easy game for me to get to and as the lad is getting that bit older we can have a pint of proper ale as well.

Boro and Wednesday for me, although Hull would be OK as my inlaws live in Brough and Derby is only 20miles away.

Basicially, for selfish reasons, anyone but BHA.

Brighton v Boro is going to be an edge of seat game

And then some. It’s an incredibly unusual set of circumstances; one set of games to be played, one automatic promotion spot filled, with the only two teams who can take the other spot playing each other on the final day (and this being the reason that the first spot is filled in the first place).

Not quite winner takes all, as a draw will see Boro promoted. But in many ways that simply evens things up, given that Brighton are at home. I’m tempted to make some facile comment about Boro needing a backs-to-the-wall performance, but I fear that it might be considered anti-Semitic.

I’d actually like to see Brighton go up. The idea of the Premier League having three south coast teams, with Pompey still playing in League Two (let’s face it, they’re more than capable of fucking up the play-offs), is just fab.

I’d like Boro to go up just because my mate supports them and I like him the most out of all my friends. He’s my top friend.

That’s a damn fine reason and no mistake. Given the way that you feel about your friend, I’m now really want Boro to go up as well. It just seems like the decent thing. Fortunately, there’s room for both Boro and Brighton to go up. That makes me a feel a whole lot better.

Brighton are away to Boro.

I want all the northern teams to go up/stay up. It is pure selfish reasons.

As do I.

Fuck these soft southerners and their easy trips to London. We want hardcore northern away games with proper ale and not gay lager.

My mistake - they are indeed. Saw a reference to Brighton vs Boro and got it the wrong way round. Very much in Boro’s favour then, but they’ll get the jitters big time if Brighton score first.

I don’t think Brighton will keep up!

Yep, Boro and either Derby of Sheff Weds would suit me for whenever I’m back in the northern wastes of Leigh!!

Shame for the sake of The Threads Title, that it wasn’t Blackburn getting promoted
