Buying a new domain extension / website building (turnkey)

What is the popular opinion about buying some of these domain names with a view to selling them on?

Do you think something with a .press, .journalist or .(whatever) might have a good resale value?

What are your thoughts on turnkey websites?

I have a friend looking into buying a solar products/alternative turnkey affiliate webstore, maybe as an Amazon/Clickbank affiliate.

The explosion of gtld’s (global top-level domains) means that all gtld’s have lost a bit of value, imo.

I would also question whether you need a relevant or natural English name at all, as long as your marketing and business is good. Look at how much was paid for the play.com domain and the changes that site had to go through. They’ve got a domain name that they’ve paid a large whack for, which no longer reflects the original intent of the business. Amazon never meant fuck all, yet everybody knows what it means. How many people knew the fuck what Google meant? It means something completely different in popular culture now.

Very much akin to BTL, parasites living on the misery of others.

MOD EDIT: removed spammy link.

Nothing left to buy and sell on. I have a few decent ones but can’t see them ever selling

What are you involved in Tokyo?

The site above is my friends. Apparently there is money to be made from this type of site.

Locking this bollocks. Isn’t a million miles away from spamming.
