You know who John Fogarty is, even if you don’t think you do. Superb songwriter, but also one of the most ripped off people in the biz. Perhaps knowingly, he produced an album in collaboration with several contemporary artists.

This is his version of As Long As I Can See The Light, Fogarty on vocals, My Morning Jacket providing the instrumentation. It’s kind of magnificent.

Cheeky get.

I was listening to them before they had a youtube account set up.

Check & mate.

Liked that one, papster. Given the Dude’s liking for a bit of Creedence Clearwater Revival, I’m not surprised by your liking for John Fogerty (you could check your spelling of his name though :lou_wink_2:). And I’ll give you plenty of six to five that the first bit of guitar solo there was pllayed by Fogerty too. Just sounded that way.

I heard this version before I even knew who recorded the original. Turns out that it was Johnny Cash. Much as I love Johnny Cash, this is in a different league.

I’ve been having a Calexico morning pior to their Brighton gig next Tuesday. This is so far from The Clash original it hardly qualifies are a cover…

My 2 guilty secrets in one cover version

A-ha - massively underrated in my opinion. Some excellent musicianship over many years and brave and bold lyrically and musically. Scoundrel Days was essentially a concept album about a guy who kills his missus nd goes on the run - not the teenybop band they often get mistaken for

Coldplay - used to be very good indeed, not so much in later years

Cover of Ry Cooder’s “Across The Borderline”…Gaby Moreno and Calexico…

So, having mentioned them elsewhere earlier I’ve been on a bit of a Crystal Castles kick at my desk today.

Discovered that this track is actually a cover - not just a cover of themselves with Robert Smith’s vocals as an added extra (they did 2 versions), but a proper actual cover from way back when.

…and the original (it is pretty different)

Being a big Duran Duran and Reel Big Fish fan, what is there not to like.

Oh and a bit of Jimmy Eat World - Duran Duran.

Royal Blood kicking some ass with Ace of Spades cover.

Stumbled on this during a melancholic fumble through Counting Crows on YouTube.

Love this version. Can’t stop playing it. (Beware the video restarts and goes silent halfway through)
