Original by Diamond head and Metallica’s most popular cover song, on the B side of creeping death death single. So not sure why this is showing the Kill Em All album on you tube.

Joan Baez cover

This came on in a cafe in Brighton today. Havent heard it in an age but a quality cover if ever there was one.

Pap, your musical taste is normally execrable. On this occasion though, I’m with you all the way.

And here’s a Carter Family number. John Lee nails it.

Liked that a lot, Bletchski. Always good to see (and hear) a Theremin getting an airing too.

Not sure of it was clear from that video, Flyd, but the whole effort used. Instruments that were around in the 30s.

On that basis, I was amazed to see that a theremin was around in the 30s???

You were around in the 30s, Flyd, when was the theremin invented?

Did you mean the 1830s there? It would be equally correct of course.

The Theremin was patented in 1928 by its inventor, Leon Theremin. He’d actually invented it in 1920, and was then sent on a tour to show off this great Soviet invention. In 1928 he moved to the US and patented the device. Around this time Leon Theremin came to me to ask about the potential of portraits stored in attics. What the fuck would I know about that sort of thing?

This is a nice punk rock cover of TV On The Radio’s “Wolf Like Me”.

Saw these two sisters support Will Varley at The Joiners. Love this version of IBYLGOTDF.

This might be controversial, given the somewhat icon status of the original (the 21st Century Teenage Kicks, imo) but absolutely love this. An entirely different slant on the track.

Lol.

At least I found a YouTube link instead of SOUND CLOUD!

Have you seen them live, KRG?

I’ve actually met them. I was excruciatingly pissed and went on and on about how the didn’t harmonise vocally, but instead contrasted.

Whatever.

Lovely girls, and very talented.

KRG gets very upset when he feels like people have stolen his material bletch.

Fortunately, I have two violent street gangs relatively nearby. The last time he sat brooding outside my house (on account of me stealing his content) with his baseball bat, the local tuffs mistook him for a scout for a major hipster drug trafficking network.

They removed him from the area, safely depositing him in the nearest cous cous emporium with a fresh pair of sandals.
