Crouchy joins the 100 club

I think congratulations are in order to Peter Crouch, who scored his 100th Premiership goal last night, and joins a quite exclusive club. A proper journeyman with more than a few clubs under his belt, mainly at the top level, still banging them in aged 36. Only one season with us sadly.

He always comes across as a decent bloke, refreshingly normal, considering his profession. Obviously well respected by his peers, no one seems to have a bad word to say about him. To be honest i wouldn’t have been disappointed if we had tempted him back when Pelle left. In hindsight it could have been an inspired signing!

So well done Crouchy, nice to see the robotic dancing come out of retirement.

When he went to Liverpool he was asked by a journalist, “What would you have been if you hadn’t been a footballer”, he replied, “Probably a virgin”.

Top Man.

Loved his penalty against the skates in 2005. Shame it was all shite after that until 2009!

I liked Crouch. He scored some crackers for us and was very under valued at Liverpool, as he come up with some stunning goals for them.

Oh Crouchy, Crouchy, Crouchy, you used to be a Skat ebut you’re alright now!!

(don’t tell Barry that Crouch used to be a Skate, it’ll cause a 180 degree shift in his feelings towards him!!)

Fit wife. Crap robot goal celebrations.

I was on the short 2005 pre-season tour to Sweden where he played his first game for Saints. One of the games against one of the lower league sides he scored 5 goals in a 12 - 0 win…fun day. :lou_lol:

Just seen some of his career goals, for a bambi legged lankster he had quick feet. And he didn’t score many with his head either.

Deceptively good on the ground, bizarrely wayward in the air.

A much better player than he looks, and his England record is ridiculously good.

And don’t underestimate his part in the downfall of pompey - his deals cost them millions as they spiralled into…wherever they are now.
