David Cassidy has gone.
When I was a kid all the girls I knew used to wet their knickers over David Cassidy. Along with Rodney Bewes, another of those who was famous when I was young has gone to meet his maker. Oh mortality! RIP

I was VERY jealous. Especially of Steve Marriott from the Small Faces. I was about 13 at the time and was “walking out” with a young lady who lived down the road, I heard my mate say that she fancied Steve Marriott and didnt know he was at that point so assumed he was the local competition! A spotty little oik is never going to compete with the likes of rock stars, David Cassidy, Donny Osmond etc. as I learnt pretty quickly as I didnt look like any of them. Many years later I did have a brief romance with someone who thought I looked like her hero, Bruce Springsteen. But as they say, she should have gone to Specsavers!

I’ll confess to knowing very little about the Profumo affair but, listening to the news this monring, it seems that this poor woman was really little more than a pawn (porn?) in a sorry affair that had the effect of creating an enormous scandal. It seems she could never really escape the whole, sorry course of events and was haunted by the whole thing for most of her life.

Disgraced PR guru Max Clifford has croaked in prison aged 74.
Heart attack apparently.
Used to regularly see him in a coffee shop in Cobham on a Saturday morning. Always had a cheerful hello to the family.
Funny how you can never tell about people.
Call me cynical, but Clifford’s death is nice and handy for the establishment. I remember people enquiring as to what he might spill.
The answer? Nowt. Not to diminish his crimes, but the judge took the unusual step of allowing majority verdicts. He was not convicted unanimously on any of the charges. Other charges he was found not guilty on, or they were dropped.
Dead men tell no tales. Chokey probably ain’t the best place to publicise your side of the story either.
TBF Clifford was a cunt. I feel sorry for his family, but he made money Out of folks misery and private lives under the respectable guise of PR - he was a cunt.

…is anyone else going to have a go at poor old Cheggers. He was a personal hero to me…I’m in pieces today.
Muti-talented…great guitarist, played classical violin, painted better than Rolf Harris and his book of limerick put him in the running for Poet Lauriate after Ted Hughes passed away. How many realise what a great man he was…HAVE SOME RESPECT!!
