Apologies for not joining my fellow posters fopr pre match drinks…I am not old enough to drionk booze :astonished:

I was in The Wembley International Hotel bar with family and friends of the North Baddesley species… :innocent:

Some had even booked rooms for the two nights prior to the Liverpool semi at a very cheap rate :astonished: either mad or a lucky guess of the Anfield game. good times had by all…my son is still missing in the Wembley area with three other family members.

Good to put some faces to names. Quite pleased that I still don’t have an Aussie accent after 14 years out there!

I want to give some props to papbro, who usually benefits from an extended support system of family and/or pliable minions. He is uber-impressive in his comfort zone of Southampton, but he doesn’t do that well outside it.

For starters, he doesn’t usually drink, so was smashed after four Guinness Colds, staring into space in the Railway. I don’t think he’s done any form of public transport in the last decade apart from planes, so he was super nervous about the trains too. During the past week, he’s been doing my head in over the issue, even though I phoned South West Trains and confirmed that they were laying extra services on. I’d get frantic texts at 9pm in the evening, complete with coach links, and a command to buy this now. On his final appeal, he complained that it’d be standing room only, and that he would die if he had to stand for an hour.

I lost it with him at this point, replying “For fuck’s sake, bro! Are you the Elephant Man?”. I phoned him the next day prepared to tell him if I got any more flannel off him, I was just going on my own. Wasn’t necessary. Surprisingly, he’s seen the Elephant Man and references John Merrick by name. I was impressed.

It wasn’t standing room only. It was so packed that it could have easily set off the world’s biggest non-consensual orgy in which no party wittingly initiated. papbro had to do contortions just to fit, and that was at Eastleigh. By the time we pulled into Winch, I was advising him to squash his face up against the glass to deter any would-be Winker embarkers.

We both live pretty hectic lives, so it was good to spend a day together. One idea that we did have is that we should do it all again, fuck the football off and not let a result ruin it. Up for a capital summer party, Sotonians? @intiniki turns 108 on August 10th, I believe. As good as an excuse as any

Kind of like pre-season training? Like the idea of that @pap , apologies for not making the meet up for the final, my mate’s brother got my brother a ticket late on and felt obliged to follow their plans for the day.

No apologies from me - my lot embarked upon a cracking pub crawl from Waterloo to Soho that really set the day off. And I can see you fuckers any time.

We want footage of Royston Smith in compromising positions in good time for the 2020 General Election to further @saintbletch 's run for Southampton Itchen*.

*I will also want compromising footage of bletch, to be delivered just before people vote for his candidature**.

**check towpaths.

@pap you going to organise me a birthday party?

More like birthday London crawl if you’re up for it. Pubs. Maybe The Comedy Store in Leicester Square and clubs afterward.

I could organise that sort of thing. Fuck paying for a hall at London rents :lou_sunglasses:
