We’ve had a couple of reports of people having trouble with “embed threads”, those which carry a large deal of embedded content. Sotonians Musical Chain and What are you listening to? are a couple of decent examples.
The large number of vids is causing some clients, particularly Safari on an iPad, to scream in crashing pain as the poor little buggers are asked to do too much.
To counter this, I’ve developed a solution for this. Any thread rocking the embed tag will automatically have a much smaller page size of 10, meaning that those pages should now load on weedier devices that were having trouble before.
