Looks flat and brown. Should hold up pretty well for first three days and play pretty true. with little cloud cover and no green patches for the seamers to hit I would expect a good, slowish batting track. Some of those cracks could open up on day 4/5 and bring the spinners into the game for the second innings.
If the newbies can’t do it against the Windies, I’m not sticking my head out from under the Duvet while we have to bat against the Aussies. Right bloody mess now.
Root must bat 3 Hayles has to come in at 5 and perhaps Buttler as the extra batsman but fvck knows who they can get to open with Cook
50 FOR ROOT & A WORLD RECORD!
Root sweeps Bishoo in front of square for a boundary and in the process, joins AB de Villiers as a world record holder for completing 12 consecutive fifties in Tests. Some effort, and company he’s keeping, eh? It’s his 31st in Tests. Go on, Joe - double it.
