Well done you spotted the joke… Or did you?

My favourite album of all time = Revolver.

Treid to find my favourites on YouTube but no decent versions of She Said She Said or Norwegian Wood?

I have none, never really liked the Beatles (or Elvis for that matter), oh I don’t mind one or two of their songs but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy any

Kinda with BTripz on this one - Whilst I really don’t mind any of their stuff, I wouldn’t go out on a limb to say I like (or dislike) one any more or less than any other, and I don’t own any of it in any format.

Although I wasn’t born until after the Beatles had already split, from that era I have always preferred The Stones, The Who, Cream and Jimi Hendrix.

Although getting old sucks, I was lucky enough to grow up in the 60s. There were so many great bands and great music around at the time - as has been said, The Stones, The Who, The Yardbirds, The Kinks. Fleetwood Mac, The Small Faces etc etc. The thing was that The Beatles were head and shoulders above everyone and really did define the era. Like them or not, they were the biggest thing on the planet and became so in a world without internet, with precious little TV and hardly any radio stations worth their while when The Beatles started out. They managed to survive the “tenneybopper” period and go on not only to produce so much fantastic music, they also became cultural icons. Being 62 sucks but growing up in the most creative and expansive musical era possibly ever was awesome. Mrs SOG wasnt born until 1966 and her musical eduction started in the 70s. I often talk to her about the 60s and what a special decade that was. I am just reading Danny Baker’s book Going To Sea In A Sieve. He grew up in royghly the same period as I did and he talks with great affection about that musical period and how many different musical genres came out of the 60s. He also is a big Beatles fan! Eric Clapton was a huge fan and was honoured to play guitar on While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Jimi Hendrix learnt Sgt Peppers the day it came out and played it that night in his gig. As you say Mangobean, Clapton and Hendrix were musical giants but even they tipped their caps to The Beatles.
