Good piece here from the Grauniad.

ā€œIt is not clear why, if this was really the first time the team had cheated in this way, the South African cameramen say they were tipped off to keep an eye out,ā€

I hadnā€™t heard that before.

Good rant by Lehmanā€™s predecessor about the Aussie Team culture

They remind me of Leeds United in the 70ā€™s, plenty of talent but resorting to dirty tactics with a win at any cost mentality. Perhaps this will also see an end to sledging? Surely no place for it in what is supposed to be a gentlemanā€™s game?

Except that people Iā€™ve heard talking about this on the radio regard it as another potential nail in the coffin of test cricket.

Speaking as someone who couldnā€™t give a stuff about cricket, it doesnā€™t really bother me.

Smith breaks down in press conference and cries like a little girl. What a ponce. FFS the over reaction from all parties to this is astounding. They roughed up a ball and got caught, thatā€™s it. Punishment dished out and thatā€™s the end of the matter. No need for any lynchings, no need for any gobshite social media bollocks and no need to cry like a pussy in front of the cameras and talk about stains on national identities. Itā€™s a fucking cricket ball, not a national disaster, FFS.

And off we go again. After our riproaring performance in Jockland (Think we were actually fooled by the fact the Sun shone)

ODI vs The Sandpaperers starts today.

Will this be a much needed respite from learning which England players fancy whom in Love Island? Or another reason to scratch our balls in bemusement?

Hmm one bowler short of a full load?

Shows how well Stokes balances the ODI team if one of our bowlers gets the treatment

Cricinfo not impressedā€¦

16.1 W Ali to Paine, OUT , oh dear, what was that from Paine?! Makes a pre-meditated move outside off, brings out the reverse-sweepā€¦ and lobs a gentle top edge to short third man! He completely telegraphed his intentions, Buttler was almost far enough across to intercept the ball himself, but to compound that the execution was poor, hitting against the offspin, and heā€™s gifted Moeen a third!

Good for Moeen after the stick he got down under

Doh

Literally as I typed that

18.4 6 Ali to Stoinis, SIX runs, that breaks the shackles! Uses his feet then lofts high over long-on. A clean swing of the bat

Itā€™s good this. Spinners bashing through them.
