I was going to post the BBC article here yesterday because I thought really cool they’re including the women’s game (I want to be female when I play computers games, and not just dumb men’s versions of female ie. massive boobs, unnaturally tiny waist). Are they along the lines of:
Are they going to start including youth teams, pub leagues, and disability matches (which are similar standard)?
What happens if I’m playing career mode, and my star player gets pregnant? Or what if she gets her period on Cup Final day?
In women’s games, are they going to have crowd noise turned down to zero due to empty stadiums?

I really enjoyed the arts chat over there. All the contributors were sound, and whilst not everything was to my taste there was usually always some interesting stuff to check out.

i dunno… i am feminist in that i like + respect womens, but i don’t believe in equality really, i.e. i refuse to accept that a woman could ever beat me in an arm wrestle. I don’t have much evidence for this cos i don’t v.often arm-wrestle women, but somehow in my soul i just know with supreme confidence, that i would always Win. Even a big strong bird like Serena Williams-Campbell, i would deffo back myself. Arrogant i spose.

You might be right, but for now I’m enjoying the lack of them. It’s nice to go somewhere on the web not entirely infested with awfully toxic folk.
I’ve belonged to forums where everyone got along. It actually works pretty well. Instead of trying to one-up each other by calling each other names and notwhat, competition is normally about sorting your own contributions than having a go at everyone elses.
Besides, antagonism is rarely interesting. Alright, you’ve got some people that are genuinely good at it, but the vast majority of people that try it do so with boring and redundant one-liners. e.g. “You are an odd person”, etc.
Indeed, as I recall pap a lot of our early encounters were disagreements, and me generally making a prat of myself. But we were on the whole, civil enough. That’s fine. Same as me and UJ over there, disagreed on almost everything but was decent chat.
Too many of them are just vile clones spouting bile (I genuinely think hippo & mash are one and the same). I know he rubs some people up, and he probably has a low opinion of me, but Fry was a master. It’s not even worth trying, as he’s just better at it than anyone else. But that’s the exception.
Geniality is is the way forward. In my experience, the best debate happens on the most carefully moderated sites. So far this place hasn’t needed that, but mostly as we are kind of a merry gang of chums.

I think one of the first things I did was shame people who’d take off on the younger posters. Never really got it, in the sense that I wouldn’t countenance going out and telling a lot of nippers in the real world that they don’t know shit. The spectacle of watching over-the-hill stereotypical whiteys, so far from cool that they’re roasting on the spits of Hades, tell youngsters that they were odd never got old.
Don’t think you are correct about Sour Mash and Hypo. Turkish knows Sour Mash in real life, and Hypo was busy trying to convince Turkish that they’d met once. All those things being true, seems unlikely.
