I struggle with actual football questions! I look at the names mentioned and i don’t know some of them. I guess bear will be able to contribute to this as he’s already proven his football knowledge is second to none!
Why is Wanyama/Reed? That’s nonsense. Wanyama is on the team sheet every time if fit. It will/may be Claise/Reed if anything, surely?
in fact, as I read the rest of the starting 11, you seem to have named about 18 players. Wi reckon we could win the league if that’s our starting 11.

With Mane and Rodriguez wide and Pelle in the the middle, is Tadic capable of playing behind Pelle? Did he do it last season at all? I’m not certain as a I was too busy watching Watford games.

It’s what’s called a football formation Brian. The correct thing to say is that while 4-4-2 is outmoded, some teams still use it profitably, but the more modern approach is a variant of 4-2-3-1/4-3-3.

I worked in an office for about a year that had only male staff. They talked about football and cricket incessently for the entire year…it was the most boring year of my working life. I put in a transfer request after 3 months and finally got my move in the summer transfer window.
I won’t be contributing further to this thread but will recommend several other interesting topics on Sotonians.com relating mostly to the non-speculative type of football conversation and the Arts section.
