Flags

ok a bit of a weird one, but after being in the San Siro, I would love to see more flags at SMS, but not sure if it would work, as we do not really have tiers.

This seems to be the case with most new stadiums. Looking at goodison and The Dell you could hang them over the family centre, east and west stand.

I just think loads of flags look really impressive in football.

What are your thoughts on this, probably not really thought about it that much if at all, until now! :lou_wink_2:

Definitely weird mate

When I posted this, I did think the thread would flag a bit.

The best way to gauge opinion is to get people to vote, maybe we could set up a pole?

Flags are a pain in the arse at festivals - surely you’d miss bits of the game if there were flags in the terraces?

Festivals…

Let’s stand in a field a mile away from anything, ankle-deep in strangers’ piss, and try to watch some ants on a stage through a forest of flags waving to show idiots where their mates are - as if their little pikey hats aren’t enough to remind us.

Yeah, that sounds like a good way to burn ÂŁ200.

we have covered the “we hate festivals” on another thread.

Banner and flags look good and I’m sure they’ll add to the atmosphere, our atmosphere at St Marys reminds me of Victorian servitude where we go in shut up, sit down and leave. The Dell it is not.

Yes Int, but you set me off again…

Confirmed by this fella.

We have flags.

They are very big.

Actually, besides us having Big Flags, the UAE itself is the home of the Guinness Book of Recrds World’s Biggest Flag

HTH

No, No, no

Can’t wave them around so what’s the point?

If we could wave them around and some fucker waved one around in front of my face during a match I would deck them!!

Far too much head hair for that to be Bletch, unless he’s wearing his Riff Raff wig again

I love flags and find them fascinating (almost to the point of being a vexillologist).

My flag of the day is:

Flags are great but maps are better. The CIA just released a load of old maps which are worth taking a look at

Rather than having flags with ‘Totton Saints’ or ‘Newbury Saints’ written on them, the flags could be covered with maps of where the supporters are from.

Maps on flags…a combination more exciting to anoraks than having your own model railway set up in the loft.

We should go with our supporters demographic like Hythe Allegro Ultras or the Avenue House Price mafia…
