Off to see Elder tomorrow, in Camden. Bit of a different one for me, but looking forward to it none the less.
England under 2’s?
Went to see Ash last night at the Brickyard in Carlisle. Was a very strange day. Bumped into Mark Hamilton (Ash Bassist) as I was walking to the car in Carlisle town centre. Had my photo taken with him. Then we went to the gig in the evening which was as brilliant as ever. But afterwards met Rick (drummer) and Tim Wheeler (lead singer). Liz got her photo with these two, but meeting Mark was the highlight for me, being a bassist and him being my favourite band member. To meet him just in town was very weird and special in one.
I would also like to point out that about 17 years ago Ash were second on the bill at the Reading festival, yesterday there were tickets on the door for a venue that holds 500 in Carlisle. Saying this, we would never have met them in their previous life!

I haven’t properly listened to him since his output as Bright Eyes. Exceptional song writer. Amusing between songs too.

I met Tim Wheeler, years ago in Cardiff, I say met, it was a job. He seemed really down to earth and non rock diva dude.

Was out to play in Brighton last night and popped in to The Brusnwick (Hove) which is fast becoming my favourite small venue.
It was one of their showcase events and has free entry. If you enjoy your music, like the Brighton area and have enough Bowden shirts to blend in, I’d thoroughly recommend it.
By far the standout act was Vanessa Forero. She’s part Yorkshire part Columbian, played guitar and a 10 string charango and was accompanied by 2 female backing singers who played hand held drums.
You don’t get many of those to the pound.
Great sound.
They’ve only been together for 3 it 4 gigs but they were tremendous.
Even though Early Doors had to cancel their appearance? RIP.

Yes he seemed really modest and down to earth. Nice chap. Mark Hamilton was funny, as I said to him can I have my photo with you, and also said sorry you must get this all the time. He replied no, no I don’t! 
Off to Reading Festival tomorrow. Not 100% sure why now but there we go. They have brought in a few more rules so no rucksacks so I will have to wear all the things I want to keep me warm when it’s freezing at night. They also wont let you take in folding chairs. My back won’t like that but sure it will deter oldies in the future (Barry will get his dream under 25s festival).

Damnit spied some people who have chairs (no pineapples seen so far). To be ageist the group do look like they’d need a good sit down. Yay! We aren’t the oldest here. Missed all the comedy I wanted to see due to being lazy. So left with Lethal Bizzle, two door cinema club, Bastille followed by Kasabian. Unless someone looks on the line up and suggests something else.
