šŸ—£ Gigs

Certainly not!

Putting aside the fact that the official map is all over the place and nothing like the arena, according to it, I was in fact waving a property portfolio in the air - from the area of the L in gold.

Boom! Just got tickets for LCD Soundsystem in September. Indecently excited already.

Fuck.

So, I go out to karaoke because itā€™s hosted by a mate whoā€™s Dad passed away suddenly last week & he wanted friends around.

After a good night & late finish the ā€œcover bandā€ came on 3 piece cute chick singer guitar & keyboards.

Then we find out that the cute singers boyfriend was found today in his apartment.

Heā€™d hung himself.

FFS life - fuck off. And tbh may the ignorant xxxx that forced her to work tonightā€¦

Well I guess you can fiÄŗl in the blanks.

Nice. Where are you seeing them? Iā€™m tempted by the Warehouse gigs in Manchester. But obviously Ally Pally is (slightly) easier for me to get to.

Gotta see them again though.

I swerved Coldplay at Glastonbury last year to see them. Grooved away at the back of a very muddy Other Stage, so much so that part of my grooving involved creating a stable dance platform.

I have never regretted that choice.

Ally Pally @krg_ Manchester sold out already. Think first date at AP has also sold out.

Oh man. Iā€™ve only just seen this. Iā€™m incredibly jealous. That must have been something very special. Jammy git.

Yeah, it was a pretty special night. Iā€™d 100% recommend seeing him/them(?) if you get a chance.

Weirdly, I discovered the other day that one of my absolute faves, Annie Clark (St Vincent), was in his band for a time. Knew she played with The Polyphonic Spree for a bit, but that was a new one to me. And thatā€™s your (not so) daily dose of boring KRG trivia :lou_is_a_flirt:.

ā€¦as was of course, the wonderful Shara Worden aka Shara Nova aka My Brightest Diamond. Boring LITSL trivia. :lou_is_a_flirt:

I love Sufjan Stevens, a unique talent - did he save Green Door, This Ole House and Julie for the encore?

To see him with Sydney Youngblood as well must have been quite special.

My mateā€™s band played there for the first time in 2013ā€¦big thrill for themā€¦sent me this picā€¦

Off to see Dan Oā€™Farrell and the Difference Engine tonight with my mate Halo.

Grant Sharkey is also on the bill and Iā€™ve wanted to see him for a while too. (Shouty, lefty with a double bass)

Danā€™s playing what looks like it might be a village hall in Brockwood nr. Alresford. Thatā€™s rock and roll right there.

@dubai_phil Hey Phil, if you like Led Zeppelin, then one of the best Tribute Acts around is playing at Hard Rock in Dubai on the 30th September - They are called Hats off to Led Zeppelin

Thatā€™s like about 25 miles from us out here in the sticks but will see what we can do.

Cheers

Another week, another gig.

Off to see Elder tomorrow, in Camden. Bit of a different one for me, but looking forward to it none the less.

England under 2ā€™s?

Went to see Ash last night at the Brickyard in Carlisle. Was a very strange day. Bumped into Mark Hamilton (Ash Bassist) as I was walking to the car in Carlisle town centre. Had my photo taken with him. Then we went to the gig in the evening which was as brilliant as ever. But afterwards met Rick (drummer) and Tim Wheeler (lead singer). Liz got her photo with these two, but meeting Mark was the highlight for me, being a bassist and him being my favourite band member. To meet him just in town was very weird and special in one.

I would also like to point out that about 17 years ago Ash were second on the bill at the Reading festival, yesterday there were tickets on the door for a venue that holds 500 in Carlisle. Saying this, we would never have met them in their previous life!

Jealous, TiCK.

Just recently discovered him myself.

Does he perform with a band, because there is a lot of instrumentation on his latest album?

Yeah @saintbletch him +4. He was very good (even in the pissing rain).

I havenā€™t properly listened to him since his output as Bright Eyes. Exceptional song writer. Amusing between songs too.
