🗣 Gigs

I would rather stick a rusty spanner in my jap’s eye than pay to watch Guns AND Roses but hey ho. Have fun!

Well they all came on, yes even Axl, at 7.45 and finished about 10.35ish. Not bad going, got my money’s worth. Some vocals not amazing but Slash is one heck of a guitarist.

I forgot my earplugs but managed to beg some of a steward so glad as it was bloody loud.

I will stick with my seeing the original line up in 1991 - They were pretty good back then :lou_wink:

Off to see the Maccabees in Manchester next Wednesday as part of their farewell gigs. It is going to be a shame to not have them around anymore after June/July! :lou_sad:

Only saw them the once, at Donington in '88.

Was by no means their best performance, but remains memorable for many reasons, good and bad.

Went to Iron Maiden at the O2 in London on May 28th.

Still get better every time I see them!

Went to Hammersmith for Evanesence last week.

Very polished performance and great vocals.

Went to see the Maccabees last night at the Manchester O2. Every time I have seen this band they get better and better. They are tighter and have more depth, but unfortunately this is their last tour (farewell tour) before they split and go their separate ways.

I am going to miss these guys a lot and if you get the chance to get hold of tickets for one of their last 2 shows, I would highly recommend getting to see them, before they are no more.

Saw Evanesence in Dubai - superb - I have a story about the band coming in the bar after & Eric & the Drummer.

I also have photos. So HE can tell the story or I will publish them.:sunglasses:

I of course spent the evening chatting with her & her hubby. Great bunch of guys

Actually Amy wasn’t there, it was her PA who actually looked a bit like her, and I bought her a drink. Amy’s hubby took a phone call from Amy whilst we were next to him, and was told to get his sorry arse out of the bar as they had an early start the next morning. The drummer and guitarist and a few roadies were well up for a few drinks though!!

Go ahead with your view of things that night!!

PS I hold the right to deny anything you may say against me that doesn’t paint me in a good light!! A lot of use was made of my 50% discount card that night :innocent:

Great band doing a drop in for a wedding tonight.

Some heavy Rock DNA in there (My Niece) but also been support to Queen & now on 1st proper tour

Just off to see U2 doing The Joshua Tree, at Twickenham tonight…

Not as good as Katy Perry or Ed Sheeran, but it should be okay.

Off to see The Killers at Hyde Park tonight. Will probably catch Tears for Fears and Elbow before hand (only because I want to be relatively near the front). We’d planned to see U2 but couldn’t get tickets. Otherwise I’d have worn my work ID in the hope of bumping into @rallyboy

This is a gig I was at a couple of weekends ago…

For you @bathsaint

So?

How were all the weekend gigs?

The ONLY memory I have of that night was a dim photo of you looking all luvvie dovey with your arm round someone with long blonde hair…

That wasn’t Mrs D_P.

And something about the band missing their flight to Beirut because of us.

Think it was blurred by the memories and pain of the Moby gig when we made it into Time Out Top 10 Party Couples in Dubai for the week and I busted my knee.

Now THAT;s what’s missing from Glasto.
