Excited about getting that missing âyâ now.
The The were excellent?
Were they supporting?
The Pedantic Twats.
If you get a chance to see them, do.
Youâll find them playing at The Mirror most mornings.
Was ok.
Old bloke playing old songs slower than he used to.
Plus Iâm sober and my mate Halo isnât.
The The are great iâm jealous
Matt Johnson
Nor sure if youâre on the piss or taking the piss, Ted.
Two important facts.
Nobody saw The The.
The RaleighBoy is a cunt.
Thanks for clearing that up mate I was concerned that Halo was sober
HmmmâŚKristin Hersh in bandit countryâŚvery tempting as long as your car doesnât sport any tell-tale stickers. https://www.musicglue.com/the-wedgewood-rooms/events/7-nov-16-kristin-hersh-the-wedgewood-rooms/
Numan at the Pyramids - the best of the first three albums.
Off to see The Xcerts and Ben Marwood at The Joiners on the 16th.
Regular viewers will know about my love of Marwoodâs weirdness, and the fact that he had given up on music (illness and lack of success) but is now doing the odd gig.
Only problem is that it clashes with the Burnley match*, but I should be able to make the prematch drinks as long as they are within staggering distance of St Maryâs Street.
November takes me to Will Varley in Portsmouth and London. Canât waitâŚto get off my tits and let him write on my shirt** again.
*and, no, Big Stupid Bob, I didnât intend to actually go to the match anyway before you point that out.
**not a euphemism.
Not âthat shirtâ and blazer ensemble you wore to the game the other week?
No Cobber, it was an expensive Tommy Hilfiger shirt (a gift) in rusts, reds and blacks. No blazer that day. Just a tie and cravat.
The guy wrote on my shirt, man.
He wrote on my shirt.
That shirt really tied my look together.
Both a tie and a cravat? Youâre really pushing the frontiers of sartorial elegance and sophistication with that fashion statement Bletch.
Rust, red and black sounds like the aftermath of an accident in an abattoir though
Iâll take them.
The Zombies in Chandlers Ford! Playing at The Thornden Hall on 11th November. The missus and I have just booked.
Theyâre still in good voiceâŚ
Saw Matt Berry and the Maypoles last night at Koko. great musicians all round but wasnât feeling it last night as coming down with a cold.
Tonight was A Peaceful Noise in memory of Nick Alexander who.was killed at the Bataclan attack just over a year ago. we missed Fran Healy and Maximo Park but enjoyed Gaz Coombes, Chas and Dave (special guest), Frank Turner and Jesse Hughes (special guest).
Frank and his partner were side of stage singing and dancing to Chas and Dave. Frank had also written a new song for his partner and sang it for the first time. awwww
All held in the beautiful Shepherds Bush Empire.
More to follow but saw Will Varley at the Wedgewood Rooms last night.
Great night.
There were 9 of us in our group including my daughter.
Regular readers may remember that Will Varley signed an expensive (and hopelessly effiminate) shirt of mine with a marker pen at The Joiners earlier in the year.
I tweeted him before the gig to plead that no matter how pissed I got or how much I begged, he wasnât to sign my shirt again.
He didnât.
But the cheeky begger did sign my daughterâs chest!!!
RULE #1 DOES NOT APPLY.
Off to see him again at the Union Chappel on Friday. Weâre going to have words.
Probably words like âI love you. Will you sign my shirt?â
Tart!
