I swerved Coldplay at Glastonbury last year to see them. Grooved away at the back of a very muddy Other Stage, so much so that part of my grooving involved creating a stable dance platform.
Yeah, it was a pretty special night. Iād 100% recommend seeing him/them(?) if you get a chance.
Weirdly, I discovered the other day that one of my absolute faves, Annie Clark (St Vincent), was in his band for a time. Knew she played with The Polyphonic Spree for a bit, but that was a new one to me. And thatās your (not so) daily dose of boring KRG trivia .
@dubai_phil Hey Phil, if you like Led Zeppelin, then one of the best Tribute Acts around is playing at Hard Rock in Dubai on the 30th September - They are called Hats off to Led Zeppelin
Went to see Ash last night at the Brickyard in Carlisle. Was a very strange day. Bumped into Mark Hamilton (Ash Bassist) as I was walking to the car in Carlisle town centre. Had my photo taken with him. Then we went to the gig in the evening which was as brilliant as ever. But afterwards met Rick (drummer) and Tim Wheeler (lead singer). Liz got her photo with these two, but meeting Mark was the highlight for me, being a bassist and him being my favourite band member. To meet him just in town was very weird and special in one.
I would also like to point out that about 17 years ago Ash were second on the bill at the Reading festival, yesterday there were tickets on the door for a venue that holds 500 in Carlisle. Saying this, we would never have met them in their previous life!
