Glastonbury 2017

It seems like only yesterday… the mud, the Mega Glamping & Michael Eavis winning karaoke for ever by closing the show

Yet all the coach tickets have sold out and so it seems to fall to me to wish you all good luck on Sunday.

Of course I’m only going online to make sure my mates get to come with us. I’ve had a pretty cool week blagging not only a free flight to Milan but also Villager tickets IF we need them.

I rralise you didn’t need to know that, but it’s Friday night & I’m slightly pickled.

Seriously though, good luck everyone

I’m not allowed to go as teenage mutant #1 intends to go - if she can get tickets …

It’s not as if me and Mrs C_S would mix with #1 given we’d go glamping…ain’t slumming it anymore. At my age comfort is the way forward

Anyway how likely is it that we’d bump into each other - until she wants a lift home?

Not sure Pap babysitting 18 yos would be such a good idea - unless Mrs Pap was a chaperone

I won’t have my name impugned like that.

Two things.

  1. I’ve got a 17 and 21 year old, so see loads of people within that age range, especially when we have parties.
  2. I’m not looking after anyone’s fucking kids at Glastonbury. Not even my own

Just got ours. I am something of an expert in being in many places at once. I bought mine via VPN in North Carolina.

There is honestly something fishy technically about getting Glasto tickets.

I have NEVER been able to get them using my standard UK internet connection.

Last two times, we bought via phone. This time, I had to pretend that I was in the US.

We have got then via our PCs and Phone in the past. So not sure there is anything in it. Just luck. But same people do seem to get them. As I know someone who has been going for about 10 years. We will probably try in April but if not I am looking forward to what ever holiday we book instead.

Lol that was our sentiments - we fly to EU that means the rounds of family in UK & Poland and only actually have Glasto to ourselves as annual holiday. We thought long and hard because we both actually would prefer to sit on a beach for a change preferably Vietnam or something. But we took one for the team F5’ing for 53 minutes

And of course got nothing. Except OUR tickets were guaranteed last week as guests of my Bestie who lives in Pilton. So now we get to go but sans mates. Kinda weird but we just know if we had NOT got or tried for tickets we’d have found some once in a lifetime legen we’d have missed.

Always April, and before you ask, no, he gets up to 10 tickets and we have 2 of them rest for his family ho hum!

I had three independent connections set up.

I set my tablet up so that it could communicate via phone. Work PC was VPN’ed into North Carolina. We had Virgin Media but we’ve never even been able to get to the start page via that mechanism.

Glastonbury kind of is our holiday. We don’t go anywhere else.

And yet again #1 daughter will be there working so we are not welcome

That generally got sorted out our first year. Juvenile Unit #1 wanted to zoom off and stay with her mates. We let her, but she ended up arguing with them and coming back to family camp. Last year same thing happened without the arguments.

It’s a big enough place so you don’t see peeps unless you want to.

Missed out again :lou_sad:

Starting to feel a little deflated about all those that have missed out.

The success rate among my mates was so poor that I might actually meet Dubai_Phil at the cider bus :lou_sunglasses:

Haven’t heard from KRG yet.

Missed out too - so did teenage mutant #1 and her friends.

Apparently Glasto is only for olds so they’re planning something else, which will be much cooler…no idea what, but no doubt it’ll involve Dad taxi’s and cash (mine)

:lou_sad:

Ah for fuck’s sake.

I wanted at least a little bit of joy on this thread. Now I feel survivor’s guilt.

Not even joking. Gutted so many people missed out.
