Grooming Tips

Not to be confused with the other ill-fated grooming tips thread rip :lou_sad:

I am quite a vain bear. I use a lot of v.masculine products & face creams to maintain myself to Highest Possible Standards. I would like to advertise some of them here to secure manufacturer’s sponsorship, and also hear bout what you bros recommend, in case I am miss out on something!

I will start with Teeths. What is ur teeth care regimine? I am a v.fastidious tooth brusher, but I v.rarely go to Dentist, cos I have never had a toothache or filling, so it seems a Waste Of Time.

Here is what I use twice daily:

Toothbrush: I will only use Philips Sonicare. I think they’re boss! I have been use them since they come out, and at first they was like £150, but now I have seen you can get lower end models for like £30 or something.

Toothpaste: I have not find much difference between toothpastes. They all seem much the same. What I do use though when I am worried bout Staining, is activated charcoal powder. What you do is wet your toothbrush and dip it in the powder, and then brush like normal. Stick with that for a week & you will notice staining is Gone & teeths is more white. It’s v.good trust! I do wonder if it is bad for Enamels, but I haven’t had any problems yet. Word of warning though, if you are v.clumsy like me, and knock the pot over quite frequently, it creates an almighty mess on ur bathroom floor.

Flossing: I don’t get on v.well with this. There is not v.much gap between my teeths. I find the tapes a bit easier than the ropes, and I can’t get on with the sticks at all. I try my best, but if I am honest, most often I can’t be fkn bothered with it.

Mouthwash: I hate using it cos it makes my mouth burn, but I do it anyway as a Curtesy to The Ladies (and to help eradicate the Black Mouth which arises from use of Charcoal Powder). I usually only use the children’s ones tho cos they are More Mild.

What did we learn there?

That Bear prefers to have a small child’s fluid in his mouth to the adult equivalent.

P.S. I’ve fallen in love with the word regimine. It’s perfect.

I don’t do much grooming if I’m honest.

I use soap on everything in the shower (Some yellow citrus number - in a bar - old school)

I use beodourant. (Lynx - the Ladeez love it)

I use toothpaste. (Anything that is by the sink on a manual toothbrush - old school)

I use hair clippers. (Wahl - Grade 1 clipper on settings 1 and 4 - head hair, not body hair - old school)

I use a stubble trimmer (Babyliss - 4mm)

I use aftershave. (The same one I’ve used for, fuck me, 30 years! Paco Rabanne Original - or “Back of the van” as it used to be known in the pubs in Gosport where I used to source it)

Oh, and Boots No7 Lipstick (Classic Rose)

I actually groom quite a lot, if I’m honest.

Soap! My God. Are you still tin bath & fetching buckets from the pitcher pump?

You need specialist face washes at least, and at least one in ur rotation needs to be a facial scrub. I quite like the Bulldog ones at the moment. Shower gels I like the Original Source mint cos it makes ur balls tingle, or the Lynx Signature Cedarwood cos it makes ur skin soft & masculine. I don’t use a flanel or anything, but I do have a foot scrubber to ensure I don’t get the unsightly & unpleasant heel crudding that you see on so many bros.

I can’t believe that grown men still use any Lynx products… that has shaken me to my very core. I thought you officially had to stop using Lynx once you had had sex more than once. You live and you learn.

I wouldn’t use the fkn Bodyspray, but try the Lynx Signature Cedarwood bodywash, and tell me I’m wrong!

Dettol,

That is all you need to know.

Soap, whatever’s to hand for the face and man parts when I’m washing at the basin, shower gel when I’m in the shower (whatever I’ve been given for birthday and Christmas presents). Although I am partial to coal tar soap, the smell man, the smell.

Deodorant, whatever Mrs Btripz picks up for me when she goes shopping

Steradent for the teeth that come out, Oral B toothbrush and toothpaste for the ones that stay in

Fusion proglide styler for my tonsorial needs

No aftershave, makes me sneeze

You must all have v.large penis

That’s true. If I didn’t spend so much on fkn beauty products, maybe I could entice a woman with a positive Bank Balance :lou_sad:

It’s a vicious circle.

I go for the un-Niviaed rugged good looks in my advanced years.

I was asked, by a rather attractive middle-aged lady in our local activity centre coffee shop this morning, if my name was “Roger”

I had to admit it was and signed her napkin. This has been happening a lot recently…

I tried those but they just ripped my face apart, I’d end up using a loo roll to stop the cuts after a shave.

To be fair to the lady, the perspective is skewed when looking down into your mobility scooter.
