Images

I have loads of old Southampton images, but I have no idea how to post them from my iPad!

Can I have the idiots guide please?

You would probably best start having them hosted somewhere first I guess, like Flickr or something link that.

THen you can get the direct link from yout Flickr account and dump the link in a post using the “Insert/Edit image”. I will try uploading one of the images on my wife’s iPad to tinypic and see if I have the same trouble as you.

Hmm, that worked from my the wife’s iPad mini.

Here’s the destructions I gave Halo the other day for screen grabs, they worked for him but if you already have the image you only need step 3 onwards…

Posting screen grabs.

  1. In windows run the Snipping Tool and snip the area you want to grab

  2. Once snipped click on the Save Icon, thsi will save the grab somewhere on your hard disk, remember where you saved it

  3. Go to http:\tinypic.com, click on the [Choose File] button and find capture.png that you saved earlier

  4. Click on Upload now and follow the instructions

  5. Once uploaded c&p the ‘Direct link for layouts’ link

  6. In your post click on the 'insert/edit image" icon and past the link you just copied

Thanks for your help. I followed the above and opened a Flickr account. Copied the URL and dumped the link into the image/edit area, but it just comes up with a little square rather than the picture.

See my description came out, but not picture!

A small square… Dam!

Trying from a ipad… So no windows?

Great pictures mate! You got any more?

Ah, I see what’s happening.

When you’re getting the image URL from Flickr you should jsut copy the bit between the [IMG] tags…the bit in bold beneath

On an iPad can you long click on an Image and get a context menu just to copy the image URL or something like that?
