Now he knows what the goal looks like hopefully he’ll start to put a few away for us
Tom Heaton the Burnley keeper has withdrawn from the England squad through injury
… shame that
Maybe FF will be given a go if Dandruff boy doesn’t get the nod, again…
I’m always suspicious of players unable to turn out for minor qualifying games due to “injury”. Not convinced the reasons are all genuine…
Lets hope it is genuine and he’ll be out for next week
Tadic just scored for Serbia. He had an assist for the first as well
FFS … Shane Long limped off injured tonight, possibly hamstring
Fuckin’ Internationals
Nah turned out fine.
Shlong scores at last his season starts now!
Shlong crocked. We’re doomed!
PS Thought this was a thread about me, Eric & Philippine Saint
Or a where did Redslo & Roswell go?
That’s your golf thread
So Long injured (maybe) Bertrand injured (maybe) any more that we should be aware of?
Didn’t someone post that Targett returned injured?
Targett and Long aren’t on Physio room**, Bertrand is
** just because it’s on the internet doesn’t make it true…
Bertrand will almost certainly miss next Sunday’s home clash with Burnley - players who suffer hamstring injuries very rarely play a week later.
After that, Bertrand could also be a doubt for the following Thursday’s glamour Europa League trip to Inter Milan and the daunting Premier League game at table-topping Manchester City three days later.
Young Matt Targett will almost certainly come in for Bertrand, as the 21-year-old played the first three league games of 2016/17 when the ex-Chelsea man was sidelined with a knee injury.
That’s if Targett is fit enough.
After all, he wasn’t fit to travel to Kazakhstan with the England Under-21 squad for last Thursday’s win which clinched his country’s place at next summer’s European Championships.
Targett was expected to be fit enough to rejoin the England squad for tomorrow’s game against Bosnia at Walsall.
Puel will be hoping Targett has totally recovered from his own injury, as after him there is little experienced cover at left back.
The Saints boss resorted to playing midfielder Sam McQueen in that position in some of the club’s pre-season friendlies.

# FPL Injury Update: Shane Long - Hamstring Strain # SaintsFC No Return Date Status: 25% http://www.PremierInjuries.com
I don’t have facts and figures to back the hunch up, but it seems as though players are more likely to pick up more knocks whilst away on international duty. Either way it certainly seems to disrupt form and routines. Can’t be good for morale when you’re around such a rotten setup as the English national team.
On the other hand - when you consider some of the dross we used to watch - it feels a bit silly to moan about the impact of having so many players away on international duty…
Fonte and VVD both came thru’ their games unbroken tonight thank fuck
