Is it time to bring out the

to where we finished last season comfort blanket, or the how far we’ve come deflection shield?

Serious question. Is English your first language?

I see Barry’s preferred tactic is the ‘start a new thread with a rambling comment that would’ve been better-placed in the matchday thread, but it’s OK because the thread will fall off the front-page by tomorrow’ brain fart.

Coping mechanisms. eh?

In fairness I understand what Bazza is saying, but I’m not going to fallback on either of those, I’ll stick with my ‘unfaltering loyalty blinkers’ and my ‘take it like a man bitter pills’ ta :lou_wink_2:

Tweaked in an attempt to make Barry words more understandable … I think

Our players are shit, and there’s not a lot we can do about it.

This is by far the most unpopular explanation for shit form at any football club, as 1) its totally disempowering and 2) it means that the fans can’t really claim any ‘injustice’ to their team getting the poor results that they are.

This season, an explanation manager, players or clubs fault? Blame has to lie somewhere.

I’d like an explanation manager. Could come in useful.

I had a ghoulash soup today and did I not like that.

The woman told me it was just meaty with a bit of tomato but she fucking robbed me of £2.

Well, no. You’re right. Not every single one. (Admittedly my posting after a defeat could be a little more measured; VVD, Cedric, Bertrand, Romeu and Davis are all decent players who I’ve got a lot of confidence in).

Going forward however, we are decisively ordinary. Long in particular is fucking unimpressive and manages to combine a shit touch without looking like he’s got much of a goal threat in him. Rodriguez needs a season in the Championship before we can be sure he’s back to his best, Redmond is terribly inconsistent and Tadic is just far, far too slow for a winger.

Added to that, we have no-one in the midfield who’s a natural goalscorer or who can take players on.

Is the manager that great? Not at all, but is there much more in the tank with the current crop of players we have? I’m honestly not sure there is.

Highlighted the bits I agree with you on, I’ve put my thoughts on Long on the Burnley thread. I’m willing to give Puel more time to decide if I think he’s cut out for the PL, I don’t think 5 and a half months is long enough to judge someone and I’m more than impressed with how the academy players are coming through under his management.

I also think there is more to come from this squad, Clasie is certainly much improved from last season and I can see the same happening with Redmond and Hjobjerg.

I’m certainly not happy with recent results, and I’m not impressed with the slow, posession based play, but I have seen times when we are able to play with more intensity to good effect so more of that please Claude.

It’s not soup, but I guess that with recent results we are in a bit of a pickle…

Polish People love their Soup.

Everytime I go into somebody’s pad over there they serve me Chicken Soup.

I first had that clear type European Soup when I was about 15 on a holiday with Parents to Austria and hated it.

Now? It is the Nectar of the Gods, served with “thin Spaghetti type noodles” some chopped Parsley & a tweak of Black Pepper

Yum.

ALMOST as good as a Heinz Tomato Soup when you have Man-Flu
