This forum has always had a broader reach than the basic footie forums, but once the manager is announced and Liverpool sign a few more of our players, I am sure there will be a few more footie related posts.

Thing is, don’t we have all to gossip on the Optimus thread? That basically seems to trawl the main news outlets for anything SaintsFC related.
So what do you want? Comments? Opinion? And to what end? So we can all disagree with each other and end up in a massive bun fight like they have over on the Fiver site, based on virtually zero knowledge of Premier League football?

I came for the football chat at first but given that the forum is dominated by suburban, middle-aged, well-off, middle-class lefties who make for precisely the kind of self-conscious target of mockery that makes the forum so funny at times!
For that reason I tend to stick with football talk on fiverweb and use this one for politics, taking things seriously now and again.
The site isn’t morphing. It’s close season and there’s been an election; of course it’s going to be more political than football.

You raise some interesting points from time to time, Tramps (this post isn’t one of them, btw), but those same posts often offer up a young man who is somewhat bitter and resentful. Which is genuinely quite sad for someone of your age (any age).

It’s like this every close season, unless someone makes stuff up, or knows anything that is going on. Nothing is really happening and we will probably have a new manager by the end of the month, so we just sit tight and wait. Then we can have a day of talking about the manager, then move on.
I normally post mostly sports stuff (not just Saints), but have not had the time to post for a few months). The Politics thread is very topical at the moment and has a huge impact on all of us. Again did not post to much on there as the election was not going to be won or lost in this forum having debates with people that are not going to change their mind.
All along this forum has been about everything and not just Southampton FC, which is what I like, BUT it does not seem much about Southampton in general anymore, but the people connected to the great City!
