January - Big Month

Now I am still firmly behind our manager, but knowning the football world, come the end of January I think he could be sent his marching orders, on the back of current results as well. But things could be completely different, based on some big January results and who we sign in this window.

Even though we are having a pretty similar season to recent years, something is not quite clicking and the high tempo getting at teams is not there, but I cannot put my finger on it, but something is not right, even the defence has gone missing over the last few games, which is even more worrying, as at least before we could say “well we are hard to breakdown”.

Now in January we have a 2 legged semi final, FA Cup, and some pretty winnable (on paper) games.

With Burnley - away, Leicester - home and Swansea away I would expect 6/7 points and to get through to the 4th round of the FA Cup. I just cannot see us beating Liverpool over 2 legs. A one off semi yes, but 2 legs, just cannot see it, but you never know. But I do expect a decent close thought game.

Of course the flip side of this is if we crash out the FA Cup and struggle away (as we have most the season) and give Leicester their first away win of the season, and just have no fight in the semi final of the league cup. I think this will be the end of out Man at the helm.

But please please please let 2017 take a turn for the good and by the end of January in a League Cup Final, in the 4th round of the FA Cup and 6-9 points in the league. I said please. Then Peul will be the king of SMS… until March at least!

Lets not pretend, but this is a huge month for The Mighty Saints.

So not the best start to Jan, but we are still in the FA Cup and I expect to win the replay. We need to put in a shift on Wednesday to keep the semi alive. Cannot believe it has not sold out!

I will have to wake the Mrs up to keep the semi alive for me

With a guaranteed boning in the offing, this is hardly surprising.
