January wishlist

She would certainly shake it up!

So, Steven Davis in a figure hugging number and high heels?

All fur coat and no knickers…

I know that Kelvin gets loads of stick but I think he has been a good servant to the club. However it is high time he hung up his gloves and I would like us to get a decent no 2 keeper as I dont think Gazza is ever going to make the grade.

Umm won’t Stek be that when Forster comes back from his injury, or vice-versa!!

Stek is on loan though, isn’t he? He might not be here after this season.

So sign him on a permanent then…seemples

I don’t have the power to sanction that.

Jayrod returning to full fitness and form.

Ditto Forster.

Mane discovering real consistency, thus pushing him firmly into the £40m bracket.

Not sure I’d buy anyone at the mo, we have a squad for the Europa League so we should be able to cope with most things without going on a QPR-style panicky trolley dash.

A fully fit squad and I am struggling for the first time in supporting them in saying where we could actually improve (obviously without millions and millions).
A striker is obvious but to take us to the next level would cost £30-40 million and that in wages, and then would they come here and would the club ever spend that? Not in a million years.

you don’t need to spend 30-40m on a striker, that’s nonsense and no one of that value would come to us anyway. Bony cost Swansea £12m.

And they are gambled buys, assured ones cost that, Ramirez, Osvaldo?

I did also say they wouldn’t come here.

And £35m for Carrol worked out well as did the £50n spent on Torres.

Carroll was a panic buy and yes even at that price its a gamble, Torres wasn’t that bad at the start and he did score some important goals. The higher the price the higher the supposed quality and guarantee it will work out, there are no guarantees though. Bale, Suarez and Ronaldo to counter to be fair and many more.

I would never wish to see us spend that sort money on a player. Certainly no more than £20m and even that makes me feel uncomfortable. No player is a guaranteed success. I like the way Dutch clubs find cheap gems and then sell them on for profit and that’s clearly the model we’re adopting, albeit we’re paying more than those clubs do. It’s a difficult one, but I’d rather gamble on £10-15m players than spend colossal amounts (as if £10-15m is peanuts!). A few more Mane’s will help me forget the Ramierz’s of the world. And Osvaldo could have been great if he wasn’t such a dick.

@Fatso you suffering from fat finger syndrome or did you think that what said was worth repeating?

I’d like us to sign a right back because Yoshida at right back gives me the shits, although he did alright against villa in the cup. We need a proper back up for Cedric.
