Nothing will be free Barry

Just updated to 17.1 Krypton a couple of weeks ago Tokes. Needed a little tinkering, a couple of settings, a reinstall of the odd plug in, nothing much tho’.

Performance is not much different to Jarvis 16 tbh … maybe a tad more responsive but I don’t know if that was the upgrade or because I had a bit of of a clean up at the same time … clearing caches/redundant plug in’s etc…

It still takes forever to exit’/shutdown and needs to be forced occasionally, for no obvious reason.

I have two boxes, updated both to 17.1 Kypton last week. One has a Wookie build and works fine now, the other is bespoke with loads of Japanese stuff of the Mrs and some more unusual add-ons. That one won’t work at all now. I can probably sort it but just can’t be arsed at the moment.

What do people on here usually use, builds or bespoke?

Also are any of the paid add-ons any good? GB mentioned a sports one last week. I have only ever used free stuff but would be interested in a good sports one that is completely reliable.

sportsmania.rocks, £60 a year IIRC, not just sport but some movies and TV as well. Can’t fault their HD streams for football, watched the boxing on demand the other day too, that was superb quality.

I’m using Kodi 17 on my tablets, PC and android box, I don’t have any problems but then again I use a bog standard build.

I used to use the Wookie builds and preferred them over others.

Now I’m using my own one, which is the basic Kodi with just Exodus, Phoenix, One242415 (now a seperate addon) Sportsmania and one or two others specific to my interests. The performance is significantly better than Wookie because it’s not packed with loads of unwanted or broken plugs ins, you’ll never use. I wouldn’t go back to an off the shelf build now.

Oh, and I whole heartedly agree with Bob about Sportsmania. For reliabilty and content it’s the best. It’s cheap as chips. you’ll never look back. btw I think they’ve stopped new subscriptions to SportsMania but SportsNation is exactly the same

Cheers guys, I’ll give it a go.

Yep. Sportsmania +VPN. Fuck em.

Do you configure Kodi to run through a proxy or do you start your VPN when you start the computer?

Also what VPN do you use?

You streaming live porn Bob?

I’ve got a Kodi Rampant Sandwich v2.10 running glorified wetware. I’ve also downloaded Horseradish Coolbox for all my international sports needs and HotShitMegaThimbleTits for movies and other live events. HotShitMegaThimbleTits runs a 10x superstream capacitor and Deluge 81617 core suppy algorithm (when 8x superstream just doesn’t do the job). I use HaHa Fuck-U VPN software which re-routes all data via a twelve-year-old Cambodian child’s Amiga.

I also invested in a pre-built Whosthedaddy box but that also includes the all-singing-all-dancing Powderpuff Cheesegrater app, and I haven’t really found a use for it yet that justifies the bandwidth it takes up. Plus with the Whosthedaddy you have to use the Argh-Ouch VPN and there are suspicions that it contains spyware, namely Coo-E and Wotcha Do-N.

I don’t use kodi :lou_wink_2:

IPVANISH.

That made more sense than some of the other “mine is bigger than yours” software lists here @themightyostrich

Less funny tho’

All well and good but where does the ZX80 fit into this setup?

+1 I steal my content the old-fashion way. I mean, not break into peoples houses & raid their VHS collection, I watch them on stream sites like couchtuner + things.

I won’t really go prison tho, will I? I figure worst will happen, if couchtuner & bt openreach grass me up, is I’ll get bill for £2000 of back rental or something. Or £15000 if the porn companies track me down too.

Yeah, those square ones were a real bugger.

The massively popular Phoenix add on for Kodi has shut down permanently as panic spreads following the announcement of legal action against 2 addon developers in the states… and it’s not just Phoenix, there’s been 20+ addons to close doors this week and that’s just the start. I can see them dropping like flies in the next few weeks and I’d would imagine the one’s left will be so in demand their servers will struggle.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying this is the death of unofficial kodi addons but it’s going to be very disruptive for a while and I think users will be spending a lot more time hunting around for working streams for movies etc.

I’ll be saying my prayers for Sportsmania, I’d be gutted if that went !!
