Lenovo z500 issues

Yesterday my laptop was locked in a loop of automatic repair 8.1, I pressed the lenovo button and did a one key recovery and started again after using the external hard drive , today windows stated I needed an update to which I thought yes it probably needs it as it’s effectively a new laptop, this is where it went straight back into the automatic repair loop BUT when i have tried to do the one key recovery the screen goes black and just hangs there, any ideas? Is the hard drive goosed?

And this is reasonably serious discussion, is it?

For me it is, if it will please you though place it in the relevant section.

Moved to Tech.

Could be pap, Bazza without a computer hingy and access to papsweb could cause a ripple in the space time continuum - basically the world could end cos Barry’s lap top is fucked by all the malware downloaded with the porn… Life can be a caaant like that

I expect a Facebook image from a far right group at any moment decrying the fact that we send foreign aid to _foreigners _while Bazza limps on with a perpetually resetting lappy.

Barry lad, have you tried booting it into Safe Mode? Well worth a try I would say. If you don’t know how to, tell me and I’ll provide instructions. Once in Safe Mode, you might be able to perform a system restore. At the very least, you’ll be able to back up your data and then blat and rebuild the fucker.

Can’t get into safe mode as I’m in the loop, so I can only get to the lenovo button to work, after that it’s all black screen, in thinking the hard drive is cooked.

Do you think you might have gotten a more sensible answer from Lenovo Technical support?

If you can get through to them possibly but probably not, they’re shit and this laptop has caused nothing but issues, as the laptop is failing to load anything other than the opening screen I can only assume a hardware issue, I’m in the automatic repair loop if I do the normal power button start up and if I use the lenovo button the laptop detects an issue and I’m back in the repair loop which surely can’t be right as I am pressing the one key recovery.

Barry, I’ve had so many issues with my own Lenovo laptop that I’ve given up using it.

HTH

They are a barrel of crap, it anything comes of this it should serve as a warning to people to steer clear of this shite make.

Should have listened to Uncle Pap.

It’s the old saying, “buy cheap, cry on two football forums at different points of your laptop’s life”.

Don’t be prick, pap. I thought you was a computer? Surely you can help Barry with this, I bet you know exactly how to do it!

The problem I have is that I’m a complete dumbass when it comes to computers (and one or two other things) so when they continually freeze up, crash, or run like treacle, like my Lenovo does, I’m never sure whether it’s the hardware, software, or me at fault.

Having said that, I’ve not had as many problems with previous laptops as I’ve had with my Lenovo.

Anyway, I’ve found that my iPad is sufficient for anything I need to do online, and that it’s more convenient and user-friendly than a lap-top.

Top marks to Pap for trawling through archives to prove a point, good work, though a little worrying.

But my favourite bit was the thought of living in a posh part of Liverpool.

So many comedy avenues open up, I’m spoilt for choice.

Meh. A vague memory and a site specific Google search will do you right.
