Don't be prick, pap. I thought you was a computer? Surely you can help Barry with this, I bet you know exactly how to do it!

I'm a bastard when it comes to other people's computer problems anyway.   Rest assured that if I had an instant answer for Barry, he would have it.   Judging from his original TSW thread, he'd ignore all advice and do something else anyway.

I'm probably being a bit harsh on him as I have family members that do the same thing.

e.g.

"Do you think I should do this inadvisable thing?"

"Er no.  Don't do it.  No matter what"

(six months later)

"I did that inadvisable thing anyway!  Can you get me out of all the shit it has caused?"

Grr.

Is it fixed yet Barry??

FWIW sometimes it can be very hard to trouble shoot a problem unless you have the actual bit of kit in front of you! Fowllyd mentioned F2 to get  into BIOS but it could quite equally be F5 or Del or F10, until you see the splash screen on the laptop you ain't gonna know.

And saying "Drop into BIOS" or "Drop into Safe Mood" to those that don't know the vernacular can be equally as frustraing to both sides.

Have you actually searched for this problem online, Bazzington?   There are normally plenty of other people that will have encountered, and perhaps solved the problems you are experiencing.

I have had a Lenovo for three years and it works like a dream.  But then I am not Barry.

Yeah, I wouldn't be a fan of their setup at all.  Typical overbearing vendor filling up your machine that you neither want nor need.   One of their handy "setup" programs was a huge security hole.
