It looks like Luke Shaw’s career has ground to a shuddering halt at Manchester United thanks to Mourinhos habit of ruining young players by not developing them. Looks like he is stuck there as who is going to pay the wages he is currently on. I thought at the time the move was too soon for him and that he should have stayed at Saints who would have realised his potential.

Mourinho does have a reputation as a bit of a bully when it comes to young players. It’s his loss. Shaw has plenty of ability and if they really want to persist with Rojo at left-back then they’re more than welcome.

United have broken Shaw, just like they broke Morgan - it’s a shame, but the deal was too good for us or him to turn down.

Shaw turned down Chelsea for Utd when Mourinho was Chelsea manager. He hasn’t forgotten that. Before his near career threatening leg break, he was Utd’s best player. Mourinho is Football’s answer to Trump a petulant narcissist who blames others for his shortcomings. Shaw will go to Spurs and be a success under Pottechino.

I think you may be on to something. Let’s face it, Mourinho has a track record of shocking misjudgements of young player’s abilities. His whole career in management at Chelsea was one of letting young players go for a song, ie, Lukaku, Bertrand and Romeu to name three obvious examples. All were let go by “the special needs one” for buttons, now it looks as if Chelsea will be paying countless millions to get them back. Mourinho is football’s equivalent of the Emperor with no clothes. Strip away all the bollocks about his so called charisma and what have you got? OK, his first spell at Chelsea when he won the title. But at the time, with all the money the Russian was throwing at them, Steve McClaren would have won it! Look at the situation with Pogba now, 90 million for a player who is obviously no more than average as proven week in and week out. Anyone who points this out is accused by Mourinho of being ‘jealous’. He is obviously clueless when it comes to judging a footballers abilities. And his treatment of Shaw is shameful, he appears to be doing his utmost to humiliate the lad at every opportunity. It seems to me that this is all a distraction, to turn attention away from the fact that despite all the money he has had at his disposal, he is doing a shit job at Old Trafford. If he was at a club of modest financial means, he would very quickly be found out. There is only so much blaming the referee for every poor performance you can get away with. Personally i wouldn’t swop Claude Puel for him for any amount of money. He is a charlatan, and i fancy more and more people in football are starting to wake up to the fact.

I’m detecting you may not be Mourinho’s biggest fan?
I recall a Les Reed interview a couple of years ago where he was talking about our academy. He then went on to talk about JWP, Chambers and Shaw. He essentially said that Luke Shaw was a bit of a tard and took longer to grasp the importance of good nutrition etc than the other two and he wasn’t able to look after himself.
So I wonder if he has struggled because he left his parents behind and he relied on them to prep meals and keep him clear of Nandos? Mind you, for £100K a week they probably jacked in their jobs and went with him.
But yeah, Jose Mourinho is an absolute bore nowadays. He walks around with the biggest fucking chip on his shoulder like he has been eternally mistreated. Mate - you manage Manchester Utd. Who enjoy the most charmed existence of any premier league club ever. You won the EFL cup final because the officials were Manchester Utd biased (and utterly incompetent, in equal measure).
His treatment of Shaw has been untoward. If he is trying to get a reaction out of him with these mind games, he probably needs to remember that he isnt the brightest lad and it is probably going over his head. That tactic may work for others but I suspect Luke needs a more caring and gentle approach. From that point of view I can understand the Pochettino/Tottenham links. But unless they sell Danny Rose I can’t see him going there.
There is another club managed by an ex-Saint who are in need of upgrading their ageing English left back who is only good for penalties. They also have a history of going after Utd players who get isolated.
