Luvvies you want to slap. Hard

  1. Kate Winslet - please do not give her any more awards. Ever.

  2. Benedict Cumberbatch - not least for the fuss he made about people filming his erm Hamlet. Get over yourself love

  3. Johnny Depp - used to think he was cool until I saw him interviewed on the Graham Norton Show. Just another up himself actor sadly.

Find #1 a bit odd. She’s a good actor, and she frequently gets her kit off. Thought this would have appealed to you, SoG.

Agreed on the other 2. Depp, for me, is the most chronically over-rated actor ever. He does 2 roles, over and over. A pale, reclusive weirdo. Or, a gangster/druggie. Big 'kin whoop.

I agreed that she is a good actor and there is the bonus of the kit removal, it is the other stuff that gets up my nose. I prefer the self effacing actors who play themselves and “the craft” down. They are not curing cancer or putting men on Mars. Grrrr

Keira knightley - find she plays the same thing generally. As I feel De Niro has done for some time too. But know that may be argued by a few people.

The worst sentence you hear them doing on the One Show/Steve Wright/Norton/Ross interview circuits is

my job as an actor is to convey blah blah blah…

Job?

It’s not a real fucking job, it’s a hobby you get paid for so don’t big it up!

If you stopped acting tomorrow the world would still turn.

That applies to quite a large % of jobs, doesn’t it?

Yep, including my own - I don’t save lives, I don’t produce supplies that keep the world ticking along.

But some people, like a few actors, think their job is vital when it clearly isn’t.

And before the Mayor of Pedant Town gets on here, yes the world will probably still turn whatever happens in the job market.

Should add to my list Richard E Grant. In one interview after Withnail and I came out he talked about when he was in Hollywood and a star whose name I cant recall now (but it may have been Cher) said to him “You are one of us now.” He seemed very pleased at that when you hope he would have been mortified.

An actor whose, whose name I cant remember, used to talk about how acting was “dangerous.” No mate, going down the mines or building the Empire State Building is dangerous. FFS if Vinnie Jones and the likes of John Bindon can become actors it really isnt that bigger deal.

Hey, mine too!

I dunno, I can see what you mean. But I can also understand why they take what they do seriously.

Lewis Hamilton. The ultimate defintition of up himself. Yes, I know this will not be a popular view.

Mariah Carey. And then some.

Not actors but still “entertainers” (not for me mind, unless they fuck up massively)

I used to have a job “spinning the world”, but got laid off.

I fucking hate people who objectify women.

Women should be put on a pedestal. Naked.

Right, KRG?

Hey, I’m just going off SoG’s usual posting.

James Nesbitt - professional Ulsterman.

Has he some kind of hold over casting directors? Always seems to get plenty of roles in film, stage and all TV channels despite having no discernible talent to play different characters.

His Pontius PIlate from Northern Ireland was just laughable.

Quite would like to spank Keira Knightly and Kate Winslet but perhaps not in the way intended in the OP

rather fancied KW after her extras appearance

Isn’t it easier to say there isn’t one you don’t?
