Now its snowing here today… about 6 inches so far so no cycling - can feel the lard piling up… but means I am able to spend some time in the workshop and get on with a guitar project that I really must get sorted - as bloke has been aiting for a very long time now. So I build acoustic and electic guitars in mine… when the day job allows, but what do you do in yours…and NO Bearsy, we do not need to know about your marathon masturbation sessions.
First bass I made back in 2012 - Cocobolo rosewood on Ash with flamed maple through neck…
Neck Carving stage 1
Acoustic Rosette
Malaysian Blackwood Acoustic back with cedar laminated braces
Can get a bit messy in there
Stunning piece of flamed Canadian Maple for a Les Paul type project I have planned …
I have two; a clean one and a dirty one. The clean one is for computers and things. The dirty one is for less hygenic endeavours, such as smoking, etc.
Theres is naughty euphemism in there but I shall resist such infantile banter. But yes… I actually have a nice stash - espcially acoustic sets…which are getting stupily expensive now - that Cocobolo rosewood bass top would now cost around £280-£300 . I was lucky enough to get a fair amount of wood when it was a lot cheaper…
Is a good escape making things… and yes very satisfying when one is complete and off to a new home… but also very frustrating when it goes pear shaped which it does now and then - even worse when a lovely piece is ruined
No, but seriously, I do! It’s hard to make that statement without sounding like I’m being rude, but anything relating to fire, trees or wood, is just amazing!
Wow, Gay that’s amazing! Really impressive. I seriously love wood, and guitars. I bet that’s really satisfying.

That is so cool! Must take a serious amount of time. I have two main ‘hobbies’ (although I invest more effort into them for them to really be hobbies) and I struggle to give enough time to outside the day job (though now I’m jobless that might change!)
Time is the biggest challenge - I get maybe a couple of hours a week to work on things - and it takkjes about 120-150 hours to build a guitar…more for an acoustic, so it takes a while. So going to head down there now. If I return with same number of limbs as I went down there with, I consider it a successful session.
Used to have a man cave in the garage, it had music, sofa, pool table, cross trainer, exercise bike and a dart board.
Now the kitchen is where I am mostly, it is mine! One day I would like a big shed and a green house to grow my copious amount of chilli plants every year!
I “own” the loft conversion. Basically all my loot that I have hoarded over the years and that the Ayatollah thinks I have thrown out lives up there. It is an Aladdin’s cave of cool shit, so much so, that when our nephews turn up, they run straight past us and up the stairs.
I did have one or shall I say since we moved things have been hectic (just bookcases and pictures as it stands), I have a snug but the baby and dog are in there more than me, and as for saw dust I have just bought a large mitre saw and they didn’t supply a dust bag, had to use it and the wife told me where to go with the new vacuum cleaner so needless to sawdust is everywhere in my cave (garage), you must use epoxy resins anywhere you recommend?

Have you still been able to get food and supplies to the captives in your Fritzlkeller?
Your profile well fits that bill more than me, as I type this you are probably lowering down a cake to some unfortunate in a well shaft feeding her up whilst you are dancing round with your bits up your crack.
