Mané - Red Card

Am I right in thinking that Mané’s red card is only a one game ban? If so does that mean it will be applied to the Villa game, a game he would have probably been rested for anyway?

Anyone else think it was maybe a tad harsh too?

Given that the match was nearly over it seemed harsh to me but if you get booked dont go and give the referee a reason to book you again by doing something silly minutes later. Perhaps it was just frustration on his part but he needs to be better than that.

I’m inclined to disagree with you on this SoG. A foul is a foul, a booking is a booking. Doesn’t matter if it is the first, or last minute.

Mané was silly, twice in quick succession. He has no one else to blame really. It’s annoying, as he’s a good player, but as I understand it 2 yellows = 1 match.

I do agree on your final point though, he needs to do better.

A good player who can’t tackle, I really think the second “tackle” was mistimed rather than malicious!

Given that the ref had been lenient all match I was suprised when he pulled out the second yellow.

Mane should have been booked for being a collossol bell end and lunging in like that when he knew he was on a yellow. Utter spanner.

It was foolish not vindictive, probably both bookings so he can’t complain.

i think he might have been rested against Villa anyway so he might have just been making sure of a night off to watch Stacey Dooley Investigate the worst place to be a woman.

Voted down for fake URL linkage…

If it’s only a one game ban in the League Cup against the Villa, that’s alright. As Bazza says, foolish and not vindictive; probably not the subject of further disciplinary action. Besides, it’s an opportunity for someone else to impress. They won’t do what he does, obviously, and we’ll miss his tricksy magic, but we’ve got players capable of scoring all over the pitch, particularly against the likes of Villa.

He was a bit dim.

If we are running with the sensible approach of ‘a foul is a foul’ - why didn’t Lucas get booked for his assault?

Either way, we got away with this one - no damage done in that game and he gets a nice rest before the demolition of Bournemouth.

Second challenge wasn’t that dissimilar to some of the fouls against him that he never gets a penalty for, so I can understand why he was confused.

My pitch to Steve Grant to get a ‘no sexism’ rule in the forum description failed. :frowning:

Better luck next time sweet heart. Good work though sugar tits, I’m sure you tried your best, well done you!

Upvoted because I read it in a Brooklyn accent. Sorry Lou.

This is the sort of game JWP needs, its the time for him to stamp his place in the squad alongside Juanmi and Romeu.

Down voted, but only x1, because Pap did not build a Down Vote x 1,000 button.

I think its dreadful one can be down voted for giving an opinion, its equally as cheap to like a post you agree with as well granted, surely it should be on its merit as opposed to agreement?
