Marvel Heroes

Anyone playing Marvel Heroes?

To clarify, is this the free-to-play puzzle game?

No. It is the free to play Superhero MMRPG (with a cash shop, of course).

I’ve not given it a go yet. I have too many MMORPG accounts on the go as it is, a series of stunted virtual careers that I can’t be arsed to go back to. At a certain point, it always ended up feeling like work.

I’m not completely against the cash model if they’re not always trying to fleece you, and the cash contribution works out better than paying for a subscription MMO. Is it decent?

The game is good. You can play one superhero to max level for free. However, you will inevitably want to try other heros and that either costs real money or lots of work to earn the right kind of in game currency. But it is fun and I am enjoying it–at the expense of work, reading, and blogging.

Yeah, my work has suffered because of it, however I have weaned myself off due to a week in Cornwall with no 4G/3G/data of any kind.

Since then I have not played it at all.

Says the man who works for a company who have made their fortune (and his probably) from F2P games (was your quote tongue in cheek? I’m thinking mayber it is but a lack of emoticons hasn’t helped)

Mind you I never have and never will buy in app stuff, I know the games make it impossible at times but I just won’t do it. Rather that the company produced a game you pay for with time limited stuff needed to do things.

That was the point.

General rule of thumb with KRG, it’s probably sarcasm.

Also, I wish it had made me a fortune :frowning:

It’s a shame that King didn’t try to really push the Saga copyright thing, and stop Saga Holidays coaches, arresting all the old people within.

We’ve been through this before, Pap.

Trademark.

As someone who is approaching their fifth decade, would someone enlighten me as to what MMORPG or F2P is?

Thanks in advance.

MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Basically a massive online world, where people assume characters that can be upgraded etc as they progress whilst lots of other people are in the game world at the same time. Wrote my dissertation about them

F2P = Free 2 Play.

MMORPG - Massively multiplayer online role playing game.
F2P - Free to play. A game model whereby you get the initial game for free, but then have to pay for content with real cash.

Thanks Chaps.

I feel old. :slight_frown:

Feck sake Numptyboi I’m gone half way through my 5th decade (if you’re counting 0-9 as your first decade) and I knew that!!

Mind you working in IT for 25 odd years has probably helped!!

I’m a twatting numpty when it comes to this sort of thing. I’m still trying to finish off Manic Miner, the original Spectrum version, too.

Dude, there was this fantastic game released in 1985 called Super Mario Bros. Non-manically, leave the mine and start trundling toward the modern age

This thread may as well be in Swahili.

I can play Scramble, Mooncrest and Sonic the hedgehog.
