Ted just seen your posts on Guilty Pleasures fred ā€¦ I guess you will have seen ā€œControlā€ but in case you havenā€™t you really must.

Really movingā€¦ great sound track ā€¦ left me not wanting to talk to anybody straight afterwards I felt so sad at the waste of such talent.

Yeah iā€™ve seen it Eric. One of the best British musical biopics in recent years  If not any Brit film recently. Anton Corbijns first movie. Iā€™m not really old enough for Ian Curtis to have some relevance, but it looks amazing and recreates the world and draws you in.

Will watch it again tomorrow

I watched the Jason Bourne film last night. It was as expected, exciting, chases, fighting. I enjoyed it.

I watched Finding Dory yesterday. It was pretty poor by Pixarā€™s standards. My kids enjoyed it though.

Finally got round to watching Sicario and enjoyed it thoroughly.

I watched Creed for the second time and wanted to mention it. If the purpose of a Rocky-llke film is to pull the heart strings, show a boxer on a journey and show some good fights, then it hits all of those things for me, better than many of the actual Rocky sequels. I love the reworking of the running scene. It does of course, also feature quite a few shots of Liverpool.

Bellew did alright as the antagonist, but his boxing was better than his acting. I still probably wouldnā€™t say that to his face. Looking forward to the sequel when as predicted, Adonis Creed becomes the future of that division.

Perhaps in Creed IV, heā€™ll fight Russia or Chinaā€™s best boxer, depending on who the US likes least at the time :lou_sunglasses:

Cartel Land (also on Netflix) worth watching if you enjoyed Sicario.

I feel like Iā€™m missing something with that movie, cos i thought it was shite, but iā€™ve heard quite a few bros recommend on it, and not all of them was dumbass like u

I watched a movie yesterday. It was a black and white movie from Olden Times. It was about this bro, and he was on a Ship, and there was a bird, and she was trying to trick him to get all his Money. And then he found out, and he was Angar. And then she found out that he had found out, and she was Angar, so what she done, was she give it a few months, and then went back and put on a Posh Accent and pretended to be Someone Else, and he didnā€™t realise it was same bird and so he Married Her. It was quite good film, far as I could tell, even tho it didnā€™t make complete sense. He wasnā€™t blind or anything. I would watch it if I was you, see what you think. I donā€™t know what it was called.

Edit: The bird also had a dad, if that helps. He was one of the other characters.

Edit2: There was a snake in it also, but he was not one of the Main Characters.

I thought the film itself was above average to good, but that fight with Bellew at the end is fucking incredible. Maybe one of my favourite scenes in a film of recent years.

Itā€™s better than most of the Rocky films.

The first one is the best. Rocky Balboa (the film) recreates the heart of that movie. I like the other movies, but theyā€™ve all got major problems. Creed came through the mix without them.

Absolutely Anything. Simon Pegg remakes another version of every film heā€™s ever made on a budget of Ā£50 & without Nick Frost.

In Nickā€™s place are the Monty Python crew totally wasted along with Robin Williams in voice overs & Eddie Izzard in a repetitive single joke.

It is woeful pretentious crap that might have ripped off 50 people at the cinema.

And yet we couldnā€™t help ourselves. We chortled at the banal silliness of the thing.

Donā€™t pay to watch it, but if youā€™ve had a couple of beers it will be a fuck of a lot more fun than watching Strictly. Stupid but enjoyably silly.

Worth a watch for Kate Beckinsale shagging a Corgiā€¦

Watched Sicario last night. Lovely to look at (Ted). I give it 4 stars.

edit: this is a good mark. I give most films D-.

So the Goatboy film reviewing standard uses both stars and grades?

Eventually got around to watching Captain America: Civil War over the weekend and I must admit it was a load of old tosh, canā€™t say I really enjoyed it. Yeah the fights and special effects are decent but the premise and story line are bollox.

Definitely a 5 out of 10 for me

Iā€™m sure all involved in the movie are proud that they got the Goaty seal of approval

The Lobster (on Netflix). Weird, arty shit that is quite entertaining. Kind of how I imagine Bearsy runs his sex life.

Watched Eye in the Sky - Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman in his last film (RIP). Surprisingly gripping account of those who pilot and decide on the use of drones and accompanying missles when deployed in populated areas. Also the huge risks taken by local undercover agents and the amazing technology that British Military cash can buy.

More surprising was that almost the entire film was based around a single sighting of a terrorist group. Not the most stretching role for Rickman but well worth a watch.
