Seriously I am really surprised and they should be ashamed of themselves.
A 33-strong group of ‘no’ campaigners among the Muirfield members cited concerns about slow play and making women “feel uncomfortable” among the “risks” of admitting female members.

As someone once said, golf is a waste of a good walk.
You can tell it was invented by Scotsmen hit a little white ball 500 yards then walk after it in case you lose it. shouting angrilly at any little boy that goes near it whilst it lays all alone on the ground.
When I was a kid we used to go to the local golf club and fill up one of the holes with sand from a bunker. It was close to the woods for cover. Thankfuly we didnt get caught as I can imagine a Ramsey Bolton scenario as punishment!
What this forum needs is a desert-dwelling golfist who could comment on this sort of outrageous story.
I know I’d like to hear more about the game, and certainly the full details of any golf-related celebrity encounters.
Tks mate. We used to live near golf course when I was kid + I knobbed a bird in bunker on the 18th one time. There is prob a commerative sign beside it Even Now.

my initial reaction was that it’s unfair but then I heard a quote from a chap who said “why can’t women accept that sometimes people just wasn’t to be apart from the opposite sex”. And I thought of my wife and I thought “yes, he’s right. Bloody women”
Tbf everyone up here is horrified by this, clearly there are 3 or 4 rich old men at the heart of decision-making there that still think it’s 1952.
Got absolutely no problem with women playing golf…as long as it’s not on my course.
