Yeah, we have to get another CB – we need at least 4 decent ones on the books – but, to be honest, I’m okay with giving Yoshida another run.
Sure, he makes the odd mistake – who doesn’t? – but, overall, I reckon he’s sound, and gets sounder the more games he plays. Moreover, it appears that he actually wants to play for us; and that he – and, seemingly just as important these days, his partner – enjoy living in the area.
In that respect he’s a throw back to some of the players that were proud to represent the Saints in former times.
It’s OK, Saints - I’ll do the scouting. Would take any of these:
Salvatore Bocchetti (Spartak Moscow)
Virgil Van Dijk (Celtic)
Lamine Sané (Bordeaux)
Angelo Ogbonna (Juventus)
Joel Matip (Schalke 04)
Stefan Savic (Fiorentina) - although possibly not the best idea to mix Serbians and Montenegrins in the dressing room…

I don’t want Vlaar anywhere near Saints. He is about as mobile as a tank. Even Pelle was outpacing him in the last game we played against them. He would be a massive backward step if you ask me.

That’s the worst bit of the whole affair for me. I used to love & respect tokyos, and support him even when he was being attacked by other bros. No! I used to say, I believe in tokyos, and if he says something is definitely happening, you can take that to the bank! I do feel let down, if I’m honest. I don’t know if I will ever be able to trust him again.

I quite like Gardos. I reckon he was bought in to partner Fonte, up until Underwood unexpectedly became available. I would be ok if we just let Yoshida + Gardos battle it out. What’s the worst that could happen?
I think Tokyo can learn from the experience and become a better person.
I really want that to happen.
I also think closing threads off early for no reason other than saying people need to move on, is unfair. My protest first time round was ignored, so I’d like to make the point again. We’re not all like Alpine you know.
