I remember seeing Ivan Golac and his wife at Marwell Park in 1979. He was still waiting for Home Office clearance to give him a work permit to play for us.

I need to ask him what day in September 1979 did he and his wife visit Marwell Park…this will prove he is who he says he is…I know the date!

Think this thread is pretty harsh on Golac, Cobham.

If someone signed up as Matthew Le Tissier, no one would expect it to be your actual MLT.

Is it sir’s contention that Golac’s life is so boring that he has to sign up here? :lou_sunglasses:

Ahhh…I’m still the relative newbie, so fair comment Pap.

Mind you, I guess Sotonians does I fulfil its social remit for mildly amusing anyone terminally bored with life…

Proof positive that SFC has historically employed blind wanks to design our shirts.

Just had a look at my collection from over the years…a lot of shockers.

Under Armour are just the latest in a long line…

Could be a bit awkward that, seeing he made his debut on 22nd AUGUST 1978!!!

It was the 2nd game of our first season back in Div 1, a midweek 2-2 draw at home to Bolton.

If it ws the real Ivan I believe his infamous quote from back in the day still stands - I’m too good for you bastards!

Nobody likes a smartarse. :lou_wink_2:

I may have the details wrong but I know the date I saw him and his wife…he should know too. :lou_lol:

I seem to remember there was a poster on The Ugly many many moons ago who uswed the user name Ivan Golac.

Don’t think it was the real Mr Golac.

For those of you too young here is one of the finest goals ever scored at The Dell … virtually from the same spot (different ground!!) as Martina’s Rocket v Arsenal.

Sometimes its good to be Old

So one can say Golac Goal

I was there.

And he did it with a ball that weighs at least twice as much as the ones used this season.

Don’t even start me on the real old proper balls that you had to lace up to keep the separate bladder in. Proper balls for proper players. None of this namby pamby crap of today…
