New Year's Eve Celebrations

So it is New Year’s Eve tomorrow, with lots of people out celebrating, by paying over the odds to get into rubbish clubs, to pay for over priced drinks, to get drunk until they fall over in their own vomit!

Me and Mrs Sfcsim do not really ever do much for New Year’s Eve as we have had a child since our first New Year together and 2 others since, we have had many years of a bottle of wine and an exciting game of scrabble. But this year we are putting the excitement on hold, so we can hold a New Year’s Eve, Murder Mystery Party. We have held a couple of these before, but thought it would be nice to get some friends over and I get to cook a 3 course meal for them all as well. Get to dress up as a bit of an idiot to get in character for the Murder Mystery. Should be fun and a little different to the norm!

what are you lot up to?

HAPPY NEW YEAR - to you all!

Mexican themed shindig at mate’s house. I get to make my ‘special’ margaritas before being walked home by my kids at 2am.

Sounds like fun, do you all put your car keys in a glass bowl on arrival? :lou_lol:

Seriously, tend to be very similar in that New Year is quite quiet for us and usually happy to have a. It of peace after so much Chrimbo endulgence.

As daughter enters her teens, I suspect I will be taxi dad in a few years time…

Zero plans. Was supposed to be hanging with my mate but she’s been in hospital this week.

Out for lunch, football, cocktails, house party. Pub on New Years day.

The missus is a “cabaret artiste” so ever eince I’ve been with her she has sang on New Years eve (can’t turn down the money!).

For a few years, before the kids came along, we did do a hotel on New Years eve with friends but since then she has gone out singing and I have sat at home on my tod babysitting!!

This year she has no gig and she has itchy feet, however the cost of a babysitter (if you can even get one) is exorbitent so we will probably tag team our local and then be together at home in time for Big Ben, ahhh.

Dresses up, comes home with cash…and tells you she is out singing?

Mmmmm, like Mrs RB used to tell her former boyfriend a few years ago that she was at the gym.

She went home sweating with her leotard in disarray but she hadn’t been on a cross trainer I can assure you.

You old romantic RB. The trainer was probably happy after she’d been on him!!

Pirate night. Debating whether to go straight from the game, although it would mean sitting there dressed as a six foot parrot.

I can guarantee this goes on until your daughter is in her 40s maybe later.

Mrs D_P has a young nephew in Hospital in Krakow with Pneumonia. Her 2nd eldest nephew was drunk at a press Xmas party barefoot & stood on broken glass. He delayed getting it seen to & now has a mega infection in it that isn’t responding to antibiotics they have 3 days to save his foot. He’s 17 for Christ’s sake.

Malo Polska state spunked their NYE budget on a massive “National” NYE gig at Zakopane the ski resort near here where borrowing a bathroom to crash in will cost you £500 for the night & they are now snowed in.

Those downers haven’t stopped our plans. We plan House of Beer I am trying to find a way to post pics from the phone honest!) THAT Vodka bar the main square “Polish/German Christmas Market” then we Wastage our way in to one of the top underground Rock music clubs here.

DJ Charlie in the Square…

NYE here is called Sylvester they all miss why I keep singing You make me feel mighty real…

Tbh with the worry it will still be the best NYE we’ve had together apart from that Go-go bar in Soi Cowboy …

No Phillipines Saint.

Not THAT bar you go to. The one opposite - Dolls House - with WOMEN in it - run by an old ex Dubai ex Pat.

Was supposed to be going to a house party. But somehow got roped in as an emergency replacement DJ in town. I don’t mind DJing, but usually it’s at my own nights where people know to expect something unusual. My brief tomorrow is to appeal to everybody. I don’t know what people like. I hate people.

If I just play stuff by people who’ve died this year, that’ll be uplifting, yeah?

Being unemployed and with Mrs B going to be the same in 2 months time, apart from some family shit to sort out during the afternoon :rage: we are firmly staying in. Watching Star Wars or something while drinking all the remaining booze in the house. Fuck you 2016
