Norwich v Southampton match thread

‘It’s the fools that bask in the glory after one win that jinx it for the next game’

An old Chinese proverb.

I’ve scraped a couple of barnacles from the hull of the good ship optimus trousers. Thought I’d pop them over here:

Pre match inside news: we are away, Norwich are home. We recently did very well, but only once. Norwich had a good home win, but it was only against Villa*. Either side could win this. Or not.

*from 1 January 2016, wins against Villa will only be worth 1.5 points

Anybody else heading across for this? Looks like I may now be staying overnight after the match so BEER.

Wise words, Lou.

I’ve a habit this year of seeing us lose. I see no reasons, alas, for that run to end on Saturday.

Saints have lost every recent I’ve attended, apart from Villa, which felt like a loss. When we had the Christmas barney about who got the car on Boxing Day, and I lost, Saints won 4-0.

I am not going to this game. Flahute can go to the game with confidence.

I have seen us win, draw and lose so my attendance gives no clue to the result.

Obviously, we will win though even allowing for a girlie-led match thread. [winking smilie]

But what was the sequence… are we due a win?

We’d better get something there…other than a nice pie.

Shoot, I accidentally down voted your post Flahute! Didn’t mean it!

Welcome to Papsweb! How did you find us?

Think he stood on a very tall building and had a look around… :lou_surprised:

The last time I went to Norwich was 1994.

Norwich 4-5 Southampton - it was an ok game that was!

I am not going tomorrow or ever again, as you cannot top that!

Bloody hell, I hurt absolutely everywhere. Driving up tomorrow and that currently seems like the least palatable activity possible. NO BEER.

We’re going to win though. If I’m going to travel up and back despite every fibre of my existence telling me that it’s a crap idea, then our lot can put in 90 sodding minutes of effort - and that’ll do the trick. None of this ‘half a game of dominance, wasted by a second period of sitting off’ bull.

Me too! To say that was a brilliant last 10 minutes and result is a massive understatement, one of my favourite ever games. Next time Kev, we need to meet up first to guarantee it turns out as well :lou_wink:
