Now Prince Croaks!

Bloody hell!!! Only 57. :astonished:

Fucking hellfire :((((

Sad news. Another of those ones I’d hope I’d get to see one day.

the 2016 celebrity serial killer strikes again! He’s got Bowie, he’s got Prince, he’s got Marley, If I was a legendary vocalist I would be v.nervous right now. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if we find someone like Elton John is next to be spread all over the newspapers srs RIP.

Heard the news on the way home from work. Massive talent - great singer, great songwriter, great musician, great showman. Only a year older than me, as well. I’d heard he was rushed to hospital after a concert the other day, and he’s had to cancel a couple of shows recently, but I didn’t think it was anything life-threatening.

it’s a sign of the times

When did that nice dog die?

I guess he’s now known as the Former, formally known as Prince, bloke

Wow. This really is turning out to be shite year for losing legends. :lou_sad:

I didn’t like all of his work, but some of it I loved. New Power Generation era was some of my favourite stuff.

He may no longer be Somewhere Here On Earth, but he lead The Glamourous Life whilst he was.

I Wish U Heaven.

Yew tree + 2016 = no more childhood tv memories :lou_sad:

He was an incredibly multi talented dude. Wrote and played all instruments on his first 2 albums, sold over 100 million. Very private and wouldn’t give any interviews.

His guitar work was amazing. Some of the chords he used were insane

My fave was Alphabet Street, and the track Paisley Park.

Not a massive fan of everything he did but he was a music legend.

Way too young.

He was so prolific and so knowledgable about the construct of music. He was brave and innovaive but musically and lyrically. My 2 best mates growing up were massive Prince fans and I was give vast numbers of mix tapes with obscure tracks on them. The B sides were sometimes better than the A sides.

Wrote a ton of stuff for other bands, often uncredited

Probably more gutted about his death than Bowies, which will be sacrilage to some, but I spent most of a summer holiday trying to get my fingers around the Purple Rain chords.

When I was in my final year at Uni me and a friend were smoking some skunk in my room, I had just started rolling a fresh one when Purple Rain started on the telly, we just sat there transfixed for the 2 hours the film was on, the music was fantastic.

Film, finished, I finished the joint!!

It was strange how his private jet had to divert for a Medical Emergency only last week.

Now seeing some rather sad stories about visits to Pharmacies etc.

Such a waste and such a shame.

The news hit just as we got to the Beer Festival last night, you could almost feel the shock as the news spread so quickly, put a real downer on the evening
