I’ve lost 4 stone since the end of November 2015, now down to 12, target is 11 (maybe ten and a half) at the end of 2017

No chocolate, crisps etc (apart from advent calendar); not drinking at home (apart from pre-drinks) and I bought a rowing machine and some wireless headphones so that when I came home from work rather than sit in the living room watching tv for an hour or two I’d have a leisurely row and watch tv for an hour.

Eventually I got really into the rowing and started to have an hour pushing myself on the rowing machine while watching tv

I thought chutney ferret was in charge of the fat fuckers club or did he run away with the biscuit tin thinking it was still full of biscuits?

Appologies to CF if it was some other bugger.

Kudos to Rust Cohle for starting a thread effectively entitled “Fatso, you’re a cunt.”.

You’ll make friends in these parts with that sort of passive-aggressive stance.

Per Chutters’ request, I am happy to start a thread about weight loss from Jan 1st, BUT, I don’t like to weigh myself frequently, as I find it demoralising when my weight fluctuates.

Flyd suggested a Cambro-Russo system that involves weighing yourself every five minutes and then, using interior angles, co-tangles and pythagaloo you can compute your Flyd-Weight over a period of time. I’ll let him explain the details because on average, it was lost on me.

So, if I’m going to go to all this effort who is in?

Fatties need shaming. I know it’s not at all pc but it is rewarding. That aside as a reformed bunter I can offer support, advice and guidance if asked.

Go gutbuckets go. Shed the blubber and become better humans

Ha well played.

I’m a skinny fuck actually. It’s smoking that’s the big vice for me

** ** me too :lou_sad:

Smoked for 20 years…average 20 a day… gave up cold turkey 3 years ago on Boxing day…had a nasty chest infection, coughed so much that I had a not so health dose of blood in the sink… litterally crapped mself then and there and was at docs Jan 27… after a fuck load of tests and several weeks of shitting it, was diagnosed asa bacterial chest infection that because I had smoked and infected the lining of my bronchia… not smoked since and satrted cycling as fat blokes look great in lyrca… do around 6000miles a year, so much fitter than before not least because of no fags for 3 years, but reckon a new shiney Cipollini NK1K for next year will encourgae weight loss…

Just gotta convince Mrs Ferret that 4k for a bike frame is a good investment :lou_lol:

Who washes your lycra undercrackers after 6000 miles of sitting on a Penguin paperback?

Well done for giving up the fags Chutters. I dont smoke nor does Mrs SOG and I am ever thankful that my children dont either. It really is a killer. Mind you, many of us have our poisons and mine is red wine. I really need to cut down. As for weight, the Mrs and I have both been on the 5-2 diet and have both lost over a stone this year. The weight seems to have evened out now and I have settled at 13st 10lbs. I’d like to get down to 13st but cant see that happening in the new couple of weeks!!!

Well done too to those who have lost weight this year. It gets harder that older you get I know, but it is worth it in the long run.

See this is the thing, I have managed to quit for several weeks (and at times months) at times in the past. I actually managed to go from NYE 2013/2014 to the first Saturday of the 2014 World Cup (had a few spliffs that night) without smoking anything at all - but as soon as a stressful thing comes up I end up having one…then another…then another and so on.

Trouble is I think the knowledge that I sort of have ‘quit’ in the past (and re-taken it up again) has actually worked against me, as I can always tell myself “ah I’m perfectly capable of quitting whenever I like”.

Anyway, pardon my derail. Good luck fat boys :lou_lol:

Cycling continues, not much for 7 days, but need to pick it up again from Boxing Day.

Tramps… You can really only succeed in giving up when you realise that the ‘stress’ is just an excuse. It’s the way additiction works… Your brain becomes programmed to tell you that you caneasy give up when the time is right… Which is not just now as everything is so stressful.

My brian still keeps trying to tell me a cig would really help with the dealing with the shit at work… It provides me me with mental flavours and tastes to tempt me back on the cancer weed. But I just tell it to go fuck itself. I know it would taste great and help… But that it is also going to fuck with my lungs and Mrs Ferret would never let me buy that frame if I Went back in the fags
